Blackpool fans have adopted another team close to there hearts this week when they choose to adopt MLS team Houston Dynamo The vote carried out on fans site tangerine-planet.co.uk saw the majority of voters choose Houston Dynamo mainly because they play in our magical colours of tangerine and boast the awesome Paul Dalglish who everyone knows is a former Blackpool FC player.
The adoption was inspired by Channel Five program David Beckham Soccer USA, which host Tim Lovejoy has been campaigning to get British football fans to adopt a MLS team and follow them for the rest of the MLS Season. So Tangerine-Planet readers have been voting to adopt a team with the winner been Houston Dynamo.
Tangerine-Planet editor Liam Wood today said “This has been a really exciting thing to front, lots of football fans have a casual interest in other teams abroad whilst still continuing to support there team of choice in there own country. As Blackpool fans a majority vote have seen us adopt Houston Dynamo We will now run regular updates on there progress through the season in our MLS round up and we wish Houston Dynamo All the best for the future including the remainder of the season. Which we hope to see Houston Dynamo finish as high as possible and wearing the tangerine shirt with pride”
He added “We hope this can also start relations between fans of both set’s of teams and maybe we’ll see them enter a team into the Tangerine-Tournament next year. At this point we’d like to thank channel five and Tim Lovejoy for bringing the joys of the MLS to us Blackpool fans”
Tangerine-Planet will now run regular updates for the States so voters can follow Houston Dynamo, The site will also run Murphy Watch which will be tracking the progress of former Seasider John Murphy. To see these features and others see www.tangerine-planet.co.uk
