On Wednesday 27th June 2007 one of the most controversial leaders in the modern world left his office for the last time. Leaving behind things that have stirred national debate and hearts. Tony Blair's speech in parliament that day was one of humour, apologies and genuine raw emotion. The most moving moment and to many the best was 'thats that, the end' love him or loathe him you cannot fail to think back on the past 10 years and remember the young, freshfaced man and his family. A Major change from John (good 'un ) Now zoom forward 10 years and he leaves under a cloud. Why? because of the way he has been treated by the public and indeed his other peers. The man did what he thought was right at the time. He still does believe (in the public eye at least) that the decisions are correct. And who do we now have in charge. The Chancellor. the Iron Chancellor. The man that was supposed to be in charge of the Labour Party back in 1994 only to be told Tony was going to have the seat instead. It seems a shame that he has taken it when terrorism is rife, we have two failing conflicts,a poor economy (well done Chancellor) and our ever closer relationship with both the USA and the European Union. THe man is barely known in the US so maybe this would be a good time to push away a little, withdraw from Iraq and get our own country sorted. The way to win public minds would be clamp down on immigration and the obvious withdrawal of troops from Iraq. Whether this will happen remains to be seen. Heres to a new, hopefully brighter, future under Gordon Brown.

Can anyone actually see the UK improving generally under Brown? I can't see it myself I can't see us distancing ourselves from the US either. A very powerful 'ally' to have providing Brown is wiser than Blair and we don't get ourselves into more pointless conflicts. We aren't at war btw Janner.
