Yippee!!!! We are officially owned (majority anyway) by yankee-ddodle business tycoon Randy Lerner. He owns 57%(ish) of the club after taking Ellis' and Petchey's shares. Apparently, he is now free to invest in the club, but it wouldn't be prudent business sense to do so until the remaining shareholders allow him at least 75% of the shares, so he can assume full control of the club.
So, if you are a Villa shareholder, vote now to allow Lerner that status of full control. Alternatively, if you are Randy Lerner, sod the risks mate chuchk MON some cash now!!!!! He needs it quickly man!!!!

Congrats on the takeover...as I said over on the Reading board my GF is a Villa fan and so while Reading were in the Championship Villa were the Prem team I followed.
Between Lerner's millions and MO'N I can only see a brighter future for Villa.

It is good news for the biggest team in Birmingham! and I sincerely hope that better times are ahead for them.. .I'm sure this is the case under ONeil... but its a shame that Aston is such a dump!

Yes, that is a shame, and they don't even make HP sauce there anymore, it's made in Holland which is a crying shame. I'd ask you all to boycott HP and Daddies sauce from now on, but I'm not gonna bother so why should you? Apparently Lerner wants to build a casino nearby Villa Park (which he might actually rename for revenue purposes....), and I think that's hilarious. How glamorous, a casino in Aston.

Whilst he is my idol (yes, I aspire to be narcotically addled and shaky one day too!), I named a dog after him. Before said dog had matured into an adult dog (he was about 3or4 months from maturity), neighbour complaints (based on fear of said dog) led the council to give me a fortnight to get rid of him. I was heartbroken, and since then, the people who took Ozzy on from me, lost the bastard. Damnit.

Sorry fella... didn't mean to stir up sad feelings... No worries mate I had no need to post about it really.... *Has word with himself* Back to the Villa anyway....... What would your thoughts be on him renaming Villa Park? If it brings in cash for the club I'd have no quarrel with it, as I think fans will still call it Villa Park, it's just on telly and generally in the Media that the name with a sponsor would be used. There are some who think it's a terrible idea and breaks our proud hisory up. I disagree...

I can hear the radio commentary now...."and now over to the Randy Stadium where Baros has scored" snigger I think changing the name of the North Stand to ' Randy End' would be genius. If I was him I'd do it. Just because I could.
