Nottm Forest 1-0 Bradford Colin Calderwood got off to a winning start as Nottingham Forest boss as they fortuitously beat Bradford. Forest suffered the early loss through injury of striker Nathan Tyson, but still took the lead when Julian Bennett converted a Grant Holt cross.
Bradford had the best chances and Paul Smith saved well from David Graham.
Forest substitute Neil Harris saw a penalty saved by Donovan Ricketts after Mark Bower fouled Holt before Smith made a stunning save from Dean Windass.
