Hartlepool have vowed to punish two supporters who invaded the pitch and confronted Macclesfield keeper Tommy Lee during their match on Tuesday. The Football Association has launched an investigation into the incident, which followed a late own goal by David Morley that gave Hartlepool a 3-2 win.
And a club spokesman said: "Encroaching on the playing surface is unacceptable.
"We will be conducting an investigation and anyone found guilty of wrongdoing will be subject to punishment."
