St Albans City Football Club was set up in 1908 and plays it matches at Clarence Park stadium. Clarence Park has a capacity of 4500 and 900 of those are seated.
The club is in the Conference National following promotion via the playoffs by beating Histon 2-0 at the end of the 05/06 season.
The most famous match was FA cup first round replay in 1922 against Dulwich Hamlet. The 4060 strong crowd witenessed a 15 goal thriller with Dulwich winning in extra time 8-7. All 7 of the Saints' goals came from Wilfred Minter which remains the highest number of goals scored in a match in the FA cup by a player on the losing side. Thanks to Kinghornet
