Property of EAGLEEYE. To drink from the chalice permission must be obtained from Eagleeye as he is the only one with sole ownership rights! Well done fella, thanks for making us all laugh!

;D
Unfortunately my bottle here has run dry! Just started a Bunnahabain (another Islay malt) - lightly peated, bit of a kick in the after taste!

Credit where credit is due, you have exceptional taste... Have a bottle of Highland Park on the go right now, from the worlds most northern distillery (Orkney)..Nice, you should have a go.

I'll be honest I always though Highland Park was a bit naff - only because it was the only malt my local Spar sold (I did Jameson's at £11.99 a bottle) - but it was only £13.99 a bottle.
My wife bought us bottle from Asda or Tescos (both have an excellant selection of malts I might add) - and it totally changed my perception - when she told me she paid £16.99! And it's a decent malt - though I usually cut that one with a few drops of water - something I like about the Islay's - they don't need to be cut and are drinkable straight from the bottle (via a crystal tumber - not from the bottle)

Big fan of Lagavulin too. smoother than I expected and doesn't need a drop of water or ice to bring it out. Know what you mean by Highland Park but have Bias as my Mum is Orcadian so grew up on it. I am really open minded when it comes to single malts as it is more of a passion that getting fucked up (mind you, like to do both!). I buy mine from a website as they seem to be more reliable that trying to get something you have read about from a local distributer who pulls your pants down on price. Have a look.. www.scotchwhisky.net/malt/index.htmWell used site so stock usually isn't a problem.

Man - what a site!
No shit - about 16 years ago I used to go out with me Dad, to a pub that did the best real ales within walking distance from home (about 4 miles)! The place we found did 143 varieties (that was then) of Scottish Malts - and the pub was famous for it.
Site you've posted - takes me back "Tamnavulin, Glen Avon, Bladnoch"

Glad I could help! Where was that pub? I have a birthday coming round and my good lady has said we can have a weekend away of MY choice. 143 varieties in a weekend may be a bit far fetched for me to do but I am sure I have tried a lot of them already so I figure there would only be double figures.....

Stafford mate - next but one pub from the station!
But pub has changed hands a couple of times - and I stopped using it once real ale stopped. So not sure on the whisky status though. The local I use though has about 20 (but Taliskar's, Dalwhinnie, Balwhinnie, Glenmorangie [not that adertised on TV]) plus quality real ales. That's the Greyhound by Stafford Prison!
