I think they've got the lease to the allotments at the back of the rookery. So it might stay where it is, but just be twice as big!

Well the way I see it, we have a couple of options:
Stay at the Vic & re-develop it, (fill in corners & increase capacity).
OR
Move to another venue and build a new stadium....
Personally, I'd go for the first one as we find it tough to fill out our ground as it is, if it just had a 'makeover' then it could make a good bit of difference.
What will tmrw's news hold.......

This is what they said:
VICARAGE ROAD TO BE REDEVELOPED
WATFORD Football Club Chairman Graham Simpson today unveiled an exciting and imaginative £32.5million redevelopment programme for Vicarage Road.
Stadium Plan
Committing the club to a long-term future at the ground which has been its home since 1922, the club's loyal supporters will now be able to look forward to a new era of improved spectator facilities for the entire family.
The club's plan forms a key part of the Watford Health Campus project and will provide, in partnership with housing association Origin, an innovative 'wrap-round' housing development which will offer car-free key worker accommodation that will directly support Watford General Hospital and its staff.
The proposal includes a brand new East Stand focusing on providing community and educational facilities, as well as vastly enhanced Rous and Rookery Stand facilities that will offer radically improved concourse environments, including additional kiosk and bar facilities.
Changing rooms, media facilities and a new players' lounge will be relocated to the South-West corner of the ground, which, combined with the relocation of the existing Directors' Box and Boardroom to the Rous Stand, will clear the way for the development of a new East Stand.
The changes will, in time, lead to the corners of the ground being in-filled creating a traditional intimate stadium with an enhanced capacity of 22,000-23,000 spectators.
The partnership aims to further strengthen the local community by providing housing for the key-worker sector with Origin contributing in the region of £19million.
Watford Football Club will contribute £13.5million, of which Origin will provide £4million as consideration for the development, with £3million ring-fenced from the club's revenues over the coming three years. The club will fund the remaining £6.5million required to complete the project through a combination of sensible long-term bank loans and/or equity.
The Watford Health Campus will potentially bring high value-added knowledge-based employment to west Watford. Furthermore the Campus will seek to incorporate a leisure and hotel complex which could ultimately be associated with the club's redeveloped Rous Stand.
Watford Football Club's Chairman, Graham Simpson said: "This is a momentous announcement in the history of Watford Football Club. Vicarage Road has been our home since 1922 and we love it here in the heart of the community. I have always said in order for this club to survive long-term we need a sustainable business. Today heralds a new era.
"I would like to pay tribute to Watford's Mayor, Dorothy Thornhill, and the Council for their tremendous support and help in getting to this stage. Without them on board, our task would have been so much harder."
Graham Simpson
Watford Football Club's Chief Executive, Mark Ashton commented: "We believe that this is a truly unique and visionary project which genuinely integrates the football club into the community as part of the health campus project.
"We want to redevelop our stadium to offer vastly improved facilities that our supporters deserve. Our plan, to work with the local authority, hospital trust and with Origin, will create a sustainable and self-financing business which will secure the long-term future of the club."
This exciting initiative launched by the newly-promoted Premiership club represents the first piece of the jigsaw of a long-term redevelopment programme for the west Watford area, which could eventually total £750million of investment.
Mark Ashton
Club Chief Executive, Mark Ashton, added: "We are delighted to play a significant part in reinvigorating west Watford which will benefit everyone in the area and assist in providing substantially improved hospital facilities in the region.
"At the same time, we are very conscious that we are in the business of running a football club and winning football matches, and our long-term investment in the community will not impact in any way upon our investment in new players and our commitment to our fans to build on the success of having regained our Premiership status."
Origin will shortly tender for their development through OJEU (Official Journal of the European Union) and the complete project will be subject to planning and Safety Advisory Group approval.
Subject to the necessary approvals being granted, work is expected to begin in the close season (2007) and is expected to last for approximately three years.
For more information, we will be publishing further details on the website tomorrow (Friday) as well as an in-depth interview with Mark Ashton in the programme for Monday's match with Fulham.
Furthermore, there will be a fans forum in November, precise date to be confirmed."
