for Crime readers
The Temperance Brennan Books (starting with Deja Dead, most recent book is Break No Bones)- Kathy Reichs
Based on Reich's own experiences, the books are about the anthropologist for Quebec and North Carolina, with the majority of the stories taking place in Quebec, though one is based in Charlotte, one is based in Guatamala and one is based in Israel. They are good books and the story drags you in, they are easy to get into if you like Thrillers.

Great choice, Alex Oh yes, definately. I read it in year 8 and thought it was brilliant. Have either of you seen the film? In year 11 Mary Badham (who played Scout in the film) came into our lesson and we all talked to her! Really good book!

I've only read the book, but the film's on my list. I want to read 1984 and Animal Farm as well, I don't know whether my school does Animal Farm as a study book for GCSE...
