Life with the Jocks a soliders struggle for Europe 1944-45
Very good book written by a pasifist Infantry Captain with the 5th Kings Own Scottish Borders , has amusing bits and some very horrific accounts.

Eight Feet In The Andes by Dervla Murphy
Dervla Murphy and her daughter Rachel walk a 1300 mile journey through Peru to Cuzco from near the border with Ecuador. Brilliant account of experiences of Peruvian life off the tourist trail. The other four feet come from a mule bought to transport their equipment.
