Just finished 'The Concise Chinese- English Dictionary for Lovers' by Xiaolu Guo. It's a narrative, not a literal dictionary. Really great.
Now on to Misery - Stephen King.

Not currently reading but the last book I read was The Magicians by Lev Grossman. Excellent for most of it but the endinng left me feeling....well....not dissatisfied but not satisfied either. Unashamedly taking material from Harry Potter and the Narnia novels but showing the darker side of a magical world more effectively than Rowling managed. Well worth a read.

The Covenant Of Genesis by Andy McDermott
No, it's not based on the Bible, it's about an archaeologist who finds evidence of an ancient civilisation and there's some secret society trying to remove evidence of it. Nothing special so far but I'm halfway through so am going to finish it
