What is the opinion of you good people about the way players are picked for internationals and then cannot play for thier club and do not even get on the subs bench as happened to Yeovil last week, we lost Arron Davies to the Welsh squad when he would have been better employed playing for us.I am sure other clubs have suffered the same fate.Dave

Hard call, in terms of the player it has to be the pinacle of your career to represent your country.
However in the situation you describe, then I think the club should take presidence. Bottom line really is the club pays his wages etc.,
You only have to look at the Owen/FA/Newcastle mess- which could result in them being bankrupted because they didn't take out adequate insurance. I can fully undersatnd why Shepherd wants the FA's arse, because they won't even barter a deal.
What happens in court will set new rules to avoid this happening again

Yes i agree it is a hard call and people would not mind if they were on the bench but the player only gets his cap if he plays.Dave

You must be in your teens as if you write a sentence and then put a full stop and that is the end of your correspondence it is normal to then sign your name. Dave
