"Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink will have a medical at Cardiff City and is expected to sign for the club today. The 35-year-old Dutchman has been without a club since being released by Charlton Athletic last season. He was on the verge of a move to Leicester City but that broke down earlier in the week. But Bluebirds chairman Peter Ridsdale has confirmed to BBC Wales the club are close to securing the signature of the former Chelsea striker. He will have medical today and if he passes that will sign for club as soon as it can be completed. Ridsdale and Hasselbaink were together at Elland Road when he was chairman of Leeds United and the pair are set to link up again. Bluebirds manager Dave Jones vowed this week to bring in a new forward before the transfer window closes at the end of the month. And it looks as if Hasselbaink will become Cardiff's latest big signing with former England internationals Robbie Fowler and Trevor Sinclair already at the club." Not sure about this, he was an excellent striker in his prime but surely he's past it now? Plus him and Fowler on silly money, and Sinclair, it's becoming like the Sloper Road Old Folks Home!

There's a story on the Beeb about the debt too - it's a load of bollocks, and it's Hammam's fault anyway... so nur! Yeah you may be right about "Piggybank" though

why you buying a reject like him, he's slow I'm not hugely delighted, but it's not my choice lol... He was good in his day, now as you say he's old and slow. And probably expensive to pay.
