Loan star Miller lifts Leeds
Gerry Cox at Selhurst Park Sunday March 5, 2006 The Observer
"Nothing signifies a club's good health more than top-class players wanting to join them, and perhaps the turning point in Leeds' season came in January when Liam Miller decided to resist overtures from the Premiership to extend his loan from Manchester United. The Cork-born midfielder, who has been on loan at Elland Road since November last year, could have returned to Old Trafford in the transfer window, and had interest from other top-flight clubs. But he decided to stay and help Leeds' push for promotion, which took another leap forward when they beat Crystal Palace to overtake Watford in third place and move within six points of Sheffield United, with a game in hand."
I hope we sign Miller at the end of the season, he's been a fabulous addition to the squad, (let's not forget it was he who got the winning goal against Southampton in our amazing comeback too). I reckon he'd be valued currently at around £1.75m, and think he'd be worth every penny.
My gut feeling is he wants to remain at Leeds and is waiting to see if we obtain promotion to determine whether he seeks to make the move permanent. What does everyone else think about him?

I admit to having doubts about his ability and commitment to Leeds but his performances of late have been great. Yesterday he may not've scored but he played really well so fingers crossed we can keep hold of him!

Acorrding to the News of the world (wankers) Miller wants to go back to Scum because he fancies his chances of gettting in the squad I think he should wake up and smell the coffee and face it at leeds he has more of a chance at playing footy more regularly than at the scum

I remember on the old BBC606 Mancs whinging about the fact that we'd taken him on loan when their midfield is so sparse, which was quite gratifying to see. Miller did have to opportunity to return to Mancland in January though but has chosen to stay with us... I dunno what the truth is in the NotW article, but personally, if we go up I hope we sort out a transfer as this guy is premiership class, and we'll need players like him.

Yeah, the last two games, Douglas has been superb, (especially yesterday), and he's been pretty good all season.

When we win promotion he'll be our first signing. Just hope the scum don't try upping the asking price because it's Leeds.

the Daily Star said he wants to go and fight for his place at ManUre rather than stay at Leeds Yeah I heard that too on the Sporting Life last week. I hope that if Leeds get promoted he realises that we could offer him more first team football and decides to stay. If he still wants to leave at the end of the season, even if we go up, then fine, good riddance. I only want players at Leeds that want to play for Leeds.

Having said - the confidence oozing through the team is very evident! I think Blackwell and Butler have down wonders in the dressing and it looks like a tight knit squad. Not sure if Miller would want to give that up and return to the scum where he'll be a fringe / squad at best. Probably won't help his international career either!

Hope its just flannel from the mancs to push the price up. he has done well with us, and I for one want him to stay, but as someone said, if he don't want to then we don't want him either. There will be plenty more wanting to join when we are back in the premiership

Usually the old has bins past their sell by date - eager for that 1 LAST premiership season!
Bollocks to that - get a couple in on short contracts for experience and bring on the younguns. Worked for Pardew and West Ham. Good blend of Youth and Experience!
