Refereeing is getting worse and worse this year, and the linesmen, sorry assistants, are also not getting any better. When will the FA realise that technology needs to be used in football?

No chance there then when you look at the FA's decision making record! Can't get the national stadium built on time, farting about re appointing Sven's successor.
All they CAN do is shag each others PAs & secretaries and bugger around with the existing laws of the game which officials currently have difficulty in interpretting anyway.
As long as the FA is led by dinosaurs well be lucky if technology is introduced before the start of the 22nd Century.

Goal line technology at least should be introduced within the next year, (I seem to remember it was being trialled somewhere this year under supervision of the FA). Personally, I'd go the whole hog and have video replays too. Far from making the game stop/start, I think it would potentially add another dimension to the game - as it did with Rugby League. A single goal or point in this league could be worth millions if this was the difference between promotion or not.
Referee's and linesmen have proven themselves over years to not be up to the standard required. All credit to them, I'm sure they try, but at the end of the day it's just not good enough. Mistakes are made as the officials are only human, but the technology now exists for this excuse to no longer be enough.
It's not enough to say that bad decisions even themselves out over the course of the season, it's just sidestepping the issue and the FA should be taking the issue of applying technology use in the game with a lot more urgency.
Perhaps though I shouldn't be arguing this point too loudly - after all Leeds have been a large beneficially of poor refereeing this year!

How on earth was that a sending off? I didn't see anything wrong with the decision? Hulse was on the verge of shooting at goal and had a pretty good chance of scoring and was denied by the Leicester player fouling him......it may not have been much but it stopped Hulsey having the chance......

In fairness what you say is very true - it's usually the case that 'dodgy referee / linesman decisions' balance themselves out over a season!
