I see Newell said he thought Birmingham should've had a penalty too, which was nice of him - most managers wouldn't have seen it

Hi neko.

It was a good close game; I didn't think Brum had a decent claim for a penalty, and I didn't think Luton's was either.

I've always rated Heikkenen, but both Brummy goals were scored by players where Heik's was the closest player. Ah well (and he got booked)

Vine on form (as usual), Parkin starting to get things right (won a lot of headers from Marlon's kicks), midfield still a bit shakey, O'Leary not quite up to the mark unfortunately, defence also unsound, Barnett will get better, Sol Davis had a 'mare (bloody awful and he knew it!) Foley .. top bloke, Marlon in good form apart from the cross that hit the post

Another three points .. notice we haven't been out of the top half of the table yet this year, that sounds familiar doesn't it?

Newell; please find another centre back so Heiks can play midfield, thanks.

I think we can permit Heiks one bad/average game; as best I recall, he was pretty damn consistent last season, and certainly had fewer bad games than some that could be mentioned (especially during the second half of the season and away from home!)

Another 'mare for Davis - been a few too many of them already this season for my liking I know he's had bloody good games too, but he's really yo-yoing as far as form goes, by the sound of it...

Not been out of the top half of the championship for a year and several months now, that's not a bad record for perennial relegation fodder, is it? But no, of course last season was a flash in the pan, we'll fade away, element of surprise on the newly-relegated teams, blah blah blah
