According to Sheffield Today, the reason behind the delay in appointing someone is because Terry Butcher has become a contender. I´d rather have Pat Butcher ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Yeah it seems like Laws is the likely choice. He wouldn´t be my personal choice, but when you´ve been linked with "Relegation Robson" and Megson, it actually makes appointing Laws seem appealing.

How sad is that. We were saying the same thing that Laws is the attractive proposition of those three. But apparently the shortlist was a smokescreen for another manager. I wouldn't be suprised if Worthington is still in the running. I can't see why he would have turned us down, he loved it here.

From what a Norwich fan told me he was on an absolute fortune with them. Like you say he has affection for the club, so may be prepared to lower his demands, but I still can´t see him being in the frame as I feel he would have got the job already had he been interested. I don´t know about you, but imo I feel we should keep MacAuley in charge until someone better becomes available. What´s the point in just appointing someone just for the sake of it.

Too right. whatever McAuley is doing about the players mental attitude should continue. We should keep him on as assistant at least!

Good Ta,so do you want NW back I wouldn't be upset if Nutter Nige came back to Hillsboro. He's a more tempting prospect than most that have been touted for the job!
