Watford play host to Newcastle United in the fourth round of the Carling Cup on Tuesday night with both sides hoping to progress to the quarter finals.
After the highs of the weekend, Vicarage Road will again see the home side take on north-east rivals.
Darius Henderson and Ashley Young could once again lead the attack since King's injury.
But one or the other could be moved aside for Hungarian Tamas Priskin, who scored the winner in the third round victory over championship side Hull City, depending on whether Boothroyd wants to continue his system of resting key players for the cups.
Goalkeeper Ben Foster is the only other doubt due to a knee injury. Richard Lee, who was superb on Saturday, will retain his spot if the on-loan Manchester United stopper fails to recover.
After what he described as “the worst performance I've seen since I joined Newcastle,” under-fire magpies boss Glenn Roeder will accept nothing less than victory as his side make the long trip south.
Steve Harper will retain his spot in goal, despite Tim Krul's brilliant performance against Palermo in mid-week.
Steven Taylor and Nolberto Solano both missed the weekend defeat by Sheffield United, but could return in defence and midfield, while long-term absentee Kieron Dyer continues his spell on the sidelines.
Thank fuck Roeder is coming back to Vicarage Road as manager of the opposing team is all I can say ;D

Maybe maybe not HC. I think we should be able to do it if we play to our strengths again. Roeder will be gone soon as Shepherd screws the Magpies again for his own personal gain.Roeder isn't a manager but a good #2. Cant understand why Kruls on the bench for them.Good news for us. This kid was simply outstanding for the Dutch u17 & u19 sides & is the future Dutch No.1 in goal. An early strike should do it & roll on the QFs. Roeder isn't a manager but a good #2.

Richard Lee will continue to deputise for regular Watford keeper Ben Foster, who is recovering from a knee injury.
Dominic Blizzard, Tamas Priskin and Albert Jarrett stand by if boss Adie Boothroyd opts to rest senior players.
Newcastle could be boosted by the return of attacking midfielder Antoine Sibierski from a toe injury.
Goalkeeper Shay Given may travel after recovering from abdominal surgery but is unlikely to feature, with Steve Harper again ready to deputise.
Watford (from): Lee, Doyley, DeMerit, Shittu, Stewart, Mackay, Powell, Mariappa, Smith, Mahon, Francis, Bouazza, Spring, Bangura, McNamee, Young, Henderson, Priskin, Jarrett, Chamberlain, Blizzard.
Newcastle (from): Harper, Srnicek, Given, Carr, Taylor, Ramage, Babayaro, Huntington, Moore, Bramble, Parker, Emre, Solano, N'Zogbia, Milner, Pattison, Duff, Rossi, Sibierski, Luque, Carroll, Butt.

Who knows which Newcastle will turn up. The team that won in Palermo or the team that lost at home to the Blunts?
A defeat today and again at Man City on Sat and I think Roeder will be out, despite Shepherd's vote of confidence. I have a feeling they will win tonight

Alright fellas.
I reckon if we get an early goal - that will dent their confidence and we should (!) go on to win. If the reverse happens they may be too strong for us.
Hope its a good game.

Agree with the early goal thing, Newcastle don't seem to have a lot of fight in that respect.
We didn't the season we went down, if we conceded that was it, but now we come from behind with ease! (oo-er)
*Apart from against Accrington, Scunny and Oldham

Sibierski header from a Babayaro cross.
Sounds like quite an open game too.
Glad Priskin has been given another start, lets see how he fares.

Sounds like a good turnout from both sets of fans GB. Newcastle certainly sound more robust than their league form has been described but as you say it is fairly open. More goals would not surprise me.

The Watford commentators commented on how good the geordies support is tonight, fairplay to them, if I was Newcastle, last thing I'd want to do considering their run of form is visit Vicarage Road in the League Cup on a cold Tuesday evening.

Valid point Tom.
According to the WATFORD commentators, we have been cut to pieces, and are lucky to not be 3/4 down.
When we go on the attack, Newcastle's defensive frailties become apparent and we have been unlucky not to get a goal or two.
Definately expect more goals then ;D
