I think any person that supports a team from a different area to where they were born are probably glory hunting plastic fans. There might be the odd exception to the rule like their parents are/were from that area.
Why would someone from Bournemouth support Man Utd or Liverpool if they were born and bred in Bournemouth and had no family history or connections with the Cities of their chosen teams unless they were glory hunting plastic fans?

I once went out with a material girl you know. Glass eye, plastic hip fuckin rubber minge! On the subject of plastic fans I take the point that people should be drawn to their local team however, I live 102 miles from Elland Road and I do get to the odd game. Does that mean I'm plastic? Did I stop supporting them when they were relegated? No, of course I didn't because I'm a true fan of the club. Having seen the Magna Carta, and studied it up close (with the magnifying glass which I use for relaxing in a gentleman's style) I can state that it is no longer unlawful to support/follow/express allegiance to a team other than that of your home team. And to expand the point further....home town - place of birth, place of residence, mmmm. Interesting selection I'd be able to draw from...Bangor City or Stafford Rangers (ah, argument falls down there because I've been going to Rangers' matches for the past 30+ years). There. They don't come along often.....but when they do, the GFJ essay is always worth a read. Warning, do not print this post and use as toilet paper as more shit will come off the paper. This is plastic GFJ signing off.....while typing on a plastic keyboard.

Seriously POG, whenever I read one of your posts, or a thread, it's invariably in there. I'm thinking of starting a sweepstake seeing how many times you'll use it between now and Christmas. Please find another word. PLEASE. ;D I'm confused here, i hardly ever use this word, or are you referring to me as a plastic fan

On the welcome boards lately there have been a few newbies joining from Bournemouth all friends of mine of course, nearly all Bournemouth born and bred but some supporting teams other than Bournemouth. I take the piss out of them in person for being "plastic fans" and I have extended the piss taking of them to the cyber world now that they have become members of our website. In the past I have been guilty of jumping in with comments about certain conversations only to look a right C*nt because I didn't look at the bigger picture. I can only imagine that something similar has happened now with the starting of this thread. PLASTIC, PLASTIC, PLASTIC ;D ;D ;D
