news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080116/od_nm/clowns_odd_dc So every kid in the country dislikes clowns? I mean, yeah, I know some people dislike/are scared of them, but I know I never was, nor any of my friends, nor anyone in my family - my nephews love 'em! That said, there's not even any mention of the results, the methodology or anything like that - doesn't exactly help us pick it apart!

A point one friend raised: What images did they show the children? I mean, if they showed this, it'd be one thing: but this would be another entirely:

There's something scary about enforced fun and happiness. It's like a holiday to Butlins.

Lol Chops! ;D I know what you mean, H, but some of the clowns I've seen have been fantastic. I used to go to a summer activity group when I was 7/8 years old at the local community centre (twice a week, different stuff to do each time) and one of my favourites there was this clown that came along a couple of times. Did balloon animals, juggling, jokes, magic, pranks, the works, and it was brilliant! The clowns in the Moscow State Circus are absolutely fantastic too I find it very hard to believe that every child in the country is scared of them. Maybe, since it was done in Sheffield, the children would be happier if the clown had a flat cap, a whippet and a big walking stick to hit children with?

Oh Neko of all the people I didn't belive you were into stereotyping! Sheffield clowns put on football strips and play on a weekly basis! ;D

Some clowns do tricks too. How did you get hold of that?! Didn't know you were on Facebook or Myspace?! It was a good trick, while holding a ciggy and not-entirely-sober!

(But yes, bad Neko - no more stereotyping ) ;D
