On Monday i bought a cheap day return (with student discount), off-peak, from Bottesford to Leicester, on the train as it left Bottesford - it cost £10.10On Wednesday i bought a standard day return (with student discount), off-peak, from Bottesford to Leicester, on the train as it left Nottingham, because there was no one on the connecting train from Bottesford for me to by the ticket from - it cost £8.60.... so someone explain why standard is less expensive than cheap?  |

They have very strange ways of working out the prices - depends on the time of day, the number of people who've booked in advance and how many stops it makes along the way, among others.
