Like Christmas crackers. Do you guys realise how blessed we are to be able to pull them and wear silly hats at Christmas every year? I always took them for granted, but as it turns out, we're privileged. I was speaking to a US friend over lunch a few days ago, and the following came up: Friend: So, I shocked [other friend] the other day Neko: Oh? Friend: Yeah, I've never had a christmas cracker in my life Neko: ... *jaw drops* Decided to further investigate among other American friends, and you know what? They really don't seem to have them over there! Of the ten I asked, only two had ever pulled one in their life - one of them only once, the other yearly. Most of the other eight had never even seen one before, and a few only found out about them through Harry Potter and Terry Pratchett books, and were left wondering for a while if they actually existed or were made up for said books! Interestingly, though, they're apparently quite common in Canada. Before people go on an "ignorant yanks" spitz, though, one reply to said query - from an English friend - made my jaw drop even further: "Hah - that still doesn't beat my friend Liz never having had a Yorkshire pudding or quiche till she came round my house." Just... wow.

They also don't have Pot Noodles (the brand, not the 'noodles in a cup' snack) - but then that may be a blessing!

More importantly Frazzles, they dont have them in america. what are they supposed to stuff their cheese and onion pasty with? Which they dont have either.
Although they do have lots of inbreeding and gun crime.

Fortunately, I've not encountered either of the latter ;D Saw someone being marched down the street at knifepoint by two guys once, in Chicago Must admit, I felt disinclined to intervene, especially since I had two girls with me!
