It's ironic but actually exercising can make you less tired.
Seriously go running 5 days a week or every day if you can it can seriously help your heart, it doesn't have to be too much as long as you're going for about half and hour or so, simple running is great cardio-vascular exercise.
Soon your heart will be stronger (it's a muscle just like any other but more important) you'll probably find it easier to sleep at night.
That rest at night is where you catch up, do your running but also try to get as much sleep as you can.

Start off slow, do what you can manage and in a few weeks time (could be 2 could be 7) you'll find half an hour easy.

Yeah you could do that, problem is you'd probably have to do it for twice as long at least because it's not stressing your body enoug. Cycling is pretty good but it just doesn't work the whole body like running does. Abs are gained by running, cycling will strengthen the legs and heart but not much else.
