Good - i hope it's the end of the crazy money in football and the start of getting the game back to where it was....but i doubt it! Just means less money for the lower leagues Sky'll still pay the Prem sides an absolute fortune So support a Premier League team then!!!!

Setanta Sports is currently backed by a venture capital firm called Balderton Capital - and apparently that Balderton don't have the money to bail Steanta out. How do I know this? - Balderton also own the majority of a Midland-based games compnay who have also recently been experiencing financial problems - you might have heard of them, they are called Codemasters. Good job none of us work for Codemasters then isn't it......

Perhaps we could take the Balderton management team to China with us, as a means of raising funds...?

US investor Len Blavatnik is offering £20m in return for a 51% stake in the troubled Irish pay-tv channel Setanta.
Access Industries, which is owned by Mr Blavatnik, said it had submitted a proposal but gave no further details.
Other investors have signalled they may be prepared to put in a further £20m, the BBC has learned.
Setanta has been hit by a lack of subscribers and by winning only one of the new English Premier League TV packages starting in 2010/11.
Mr Blavatnik is also involved with Top-Up TV, the pay-TV channel on Freeview.
His plan has a reasonable chance of succeeding, according to the BBC's business editor Robert Peston.

Setanta loses Premier League contract after failing to repay £30m debt
Troubled sports broadcaster Setanta today lost the final year of its English Premier League football contract after defaulting on a £30 million debt.
The decision means that the league will sell off the broadcaster's 46 live matches for the 2009-10 season to the highest bidder at an auction set for the start of next week.
Earlier this week, the league announced that it would terminate the contract if the struggling pay-TV group failed to pay a crucial bill by the end of today.
Announcing its decision, the league said in a statement tonight: “The Premier League has been working with Setanta for some time to help them continue as the broadcaster of 46 UK live matches for the 2009/10 Season.
“The Premier League, in agreement with Setanta, stipulated that certain contractual requirements had to be met on or before Friday June 19, 2009, to allow the preparations for the 2009/10 season to continue unaffected.
“It is with considerable regret that we announce that Setanta has been unable to meet their obligations. As such the existing licence agreement between us has been terminated with immediate effect.
“The Premier League will now go ahead and market the 46 UK live matches for the 2009/10 season.”
The sports broadcaster's hopes of survival were dealt a further, massive blow tonight after its efforts to negotiate a potential rescue deal failed, the potential investor said.
