Eto'o an Alves may have been poor but Messi was double marked often enough. Her still retained posession and managed to leep passing the ball around and of course got the assist for Andres. I do prefer foreign football thanks namely Spain and Argentina and I dislike Chavsea intensely with their own select band of uberchavs. Manchester United are hardly an English team anyway if you care to look at their line up either. I love this English clubs suceed in Europe when most of their squads are full of overseas players. Unlike say Nottingham Forest in 79/80. Forest are a greater club than Chavsea and always will be. Even Newton Heath at least have built their club up and have a great history and pedigree instead of trying to buy it. Ovechkin in 'I hate Chavsea' rant shocker.

hmm, not much of an English team.
Rio,Scholes,Carrick,Rooney
spine is pretty much English. Then O'Shea,Fletcher are british, Brown when fit plays aswell. We often contribute the most players to England.
Messi struggles against Prem teams it seems( hopefully he does in Final aswell). He is a great player, but i think it shows the difference between La Liga and English Premiership.

I'd rather it stayed in England than go elsewhere. In my opinion, the Spanish league is going the way of the Italian league - downhill. The standard has dropped big time! barca (who the press and several folk on here wax lyrical about) arent quite as good as people make out, unless they are playing & beating sub standard teams in their own domestic league!

When you compare Barca against Chelsea seven of the Barca squad have been raised in their academy compared to one for Chavsea.
They are also a multinational side fair enough but I was raising the point that the press like to trumpe the sucess as if its down to English football.
The standard of La Liga has not dropped its that the financial strength of the Premiershite means the clubs can afford to bring in better and better foreign players abetted by the influx of foreign coaches.
The strength thus has been increased of the English clubs a trend which can only continue.
Messi is a great player .The difference is in ethos of La Liga as opposed to the CL particularly in its last stages.
La Liga encourages attacking passing football whereas Chavsea were quiet happy to try and stifle Barca. Only one side was trying to play football.
The hypocrisy is this. The media are quite happy to savage Greece for winning in 2004 and Italian sides in the 90s for their 1-0 approach but when its Chelsea hey its a tactical masterstroke.
I'm consistent in that I like to see attacking passing football.
As for Lionel he has the greatest number of goals and assists combined in this seasons tournament so he musy be doing something right even when he is double marked or sometimes triple markeda a fact which was exacerbated by Eto's poor performance and the absence of Henry.
The Libertadores is more exciting than the CL in many of the games and no doubt this year too. Chavsea's approach for once got their just desserts.
Usually its the other way round.

Loved how Sky were busy condemning it, then showed it again anyway... Of course, we're all missing one important thing here... Where's the fucking cake in all of this?

I just heard that Chelsea will be sponsored by Viagra next season. A spokesman said "the club was willing to try anything to get past a semi"

All this talk that Chelsea should have had maybe four penalties on Wednesday makes no difference, they had six in last years final and still lost
