We could still get second place. Remaining fixtures for Brum, Sheff Utd and Reading are: Sheff Utd v Swansea (Sheff draw) Brum v Preston (Preston win) Norwich v Reading (Reading win) Crystal Palace v Sheff Utd (Sheff win) Reading v Brum (Reading win) 2. Reading 80 pts 3. Sheff 80 pts 4. Brum 80pts We get 2nd on goal difference! Unlikely to happen but who knows! Obviously it's not going to happen with that sequence of results now, but I think a Reading win at home to Birmingham and a Sheffield United draw at Crystal Palace is a distinct possibility, which would produce the same outcome.

ancientblade I believe that you will beat Palace and we will beat Brum. I'm happier seeing you get 2nd than Brum. We'll just have to do it the hard way in the playoffs.

In that season Wednesday were a much stronger side than us on paper and yet we managed to do the double over them. But if they had done the double over us instead, they would have been first division runners up, just one point behind the champions (Leeds).
