Commiserations, but Birmingham and Reading have been in and around the top two all season, so its only right one of them went up. Best of luck in the playoffs, PNE will be tricky. Birmingham deserve to go up automatically, not because they were 'in and around the top two' for most of the season, but because they had sufficient points to put them there after the final game of the season. And in order to achieve that they had to perform under pressure by winning a very tricky final game. If we were in their position going into the final game, I do not think we would have won. If it was just about being in or around the top two all season, Wolves would have gone up in 2001-2. But, West Brom came in with a late run and snatched second place away from. They had not been in or around the top two until very late in the season, but still deserved their success as I'm sure you'll agree - even if it does cause you to spit feathers!!. Mind you, we did our best to try and stop West Brom at the infamous 'battle of Bramall Lane'! Not our proudest moment.

Lets be honest here, Reading were awful during the latter part of the season, i'm sure Histon would have played them off the field at the Madejski, given the opportunity. Cheers for reminding me about 01-02 and NO the scum don't deserve anything.

Just been looking at Reading's stats. I didn't realise their home form had been so poor. No league win at home for 8 consecutive matches, and only 3 goals scored. No wonder Birmingham beat them!
Strange, because I think they were easily the best side to visit Bramall Lane this season.
