REALLY GET IN! What a fooking top result for us and we beat the shitty bastards at there own game too! STAYING UP! Sorry to be pedantic JBL, but you didn't actually beat us! Unless my eyes deceived me, neither side scored, which makes it a draw. And you played your own game, not our's. I have watched us play for quite a few years and never seen us play quite like that. I have also seen you on numerous occasions and never before seen you play like that either. But, my point on the thread on our board to which you have made a couple of contributions wasn't to somehow claim we were cheated out of a win. We weren't. You left with a point which you fully deserved. In fact, it's quite frightening that we are currently third in this division and yet were totally unable to break you down. Doesn't say a lot for the rest of the division really! No, my point was that over (comparatively) recent years as supporters of Sheffield United we have had to take jibes from supporters of clubs that consider themselves to play football in the 'right' way. And many such jibes have come from supporters of Nottingham Forest. Such supporters try and claim some sort of morale high ground. My point was simply that you have now forfeited the right to give us any lectures at all on the right or wrong way to play. I have always thought it preferable to watch 'pleasant', flowing, entertaining football. And in years gone by, particularly the first half of the 1970s, we played some beautiful football. Unfortunately in the second half of the 1970s, for a variety of reasons we slid pretty spectacularly on and off the field, and eventually ended up in the fourth division for a season. Although that was actually an extremely enjoyable season. Now, as you have found out, when you've got no money, and all the wrong types of players for the predicament you're in, you have to either get an absolute genius to manage you (as you did in the 1970s with Brian Clough - but there aren't many of those about). Or you devise a playing style that players of limited ability can cope with and have confidence in - as Dave Bassett did with us. Unfortunately you then get all sorts of labels and told that somehow your not playing football in the right way. In my view there are more entertaing ways and less entertaining ways to play football. But the right way to play is the one that achieves positive results for your club with the resources at your disposal. At the end of the day it's quite simple really. The aim of football is for you to score more goals than the opposing team, or if you can't do that, to ensure they don't score any more goals than you do. The way you do it, is usually determined by what you have at your disposal. When sides play football that is less easy on the eye, it's not because they want to do so, it's because they have little choice given their resources. And looking at the way you played against us I think you have found that out!

We always did well at Bloomfield in League 1 (well I remember winning 2 nil the season they went up anyway) but you are right, it will be a right old tussle.
