I recently changed by master hard drive, but i've programs saved on a different "slave" hard drive previous via a different master hard-drive. As such the current master drive does acknowledge these programs (although the computer does play them) Does anybody know how to get my computer to recognise these programs saved on the "slave" hard drive? (i.e. so they populate the program add/remove menu) A2V? As the programs on your slave drive were installed prior to the installation of a new hard drive and it's new operating system, then I'm fairly certain what you want to do isn't possible. When installing software under windows, files can be scattered in numerous system locations not just in program files, and an extensive range of registry entries can be written. These windows based installation quirks effectively bind aspects of an installed program to the operating system. It's rare to find self contained programs, that will effectively run from their own directory without having been installed under your current operating system. So in many ways you are quite lucky that the programs on the old drive work at all. all right *.... takes out the positives* WoOOooO! I'm Lucky!
