I generally agree with Mort and Rich. There was nothing in our local paper about it, even a picture of the said gesture, an interview with David Norris - no mention of the celebration. However, I also agree with Gres regarding sending the letter to McCormick.
I do not condone Norris' actions. They were stupid and irresponsible.
Still waiting for the Ipswich Town statement.

Ipswich midfielder David Norris has been fined and warned about his future conduct following his goal celebration against Blackpool.
Norris appeared to make a 'handcuff' gesture in support of his jailed former Plymouth team-mate Luke McCormick, after scoring for Ipswich at Blackpool on Saturday.
McCormick is serving seven years and four months for causing the deaths of Arron Peak, 10, and his brother Ben, eight, in a car accident when he was under the influence of alcohol earlier this summer on his way home from Norris' wedding.
Saturday's incident infuriated the mother of the boys, with The Football Association writing to Norris to ask for his explanation of the gesture.
Ipswich have reacted quickly to the incident by fining Norris and the 26-year-old has been warned about his future conduct.
A statement from Ipswich read: "David deeply regrets that his actions have been wrongly interpreted and has today written a personal and private letter of regret to Mr and Mrs Peak.
"In hearing the player's explanation, the club also regrets the potential for misinterpretation of the gesture and would like to make a donation to an appropriate charity, equal to the fine imposed on the player."

Norris has released a statement: www.clubfanzine.com/ipswich_town/v2.showNews.php?id=15797It must be hell for the family, the BBC News report made me so angry when they showed the footage of McCormick driving again. I've looked on the Mirror (and The Sun's) websites, and reading the articles as well made me angry too. I'm disappointed in Norris, because whatever he was "meant" to be saying wasn't recognised, but I think the club have dealt with it suitably. I just hope that the red-tops and the rolling news channels let it be now, and leave the family in peace.

Probably why it came out today and not yesterday.

Saw in the paper today that the parents now want a face-to-face apology, whereas last time I read something, it said they were happy with the written apology from Norris.... is this just media hype or what???
Of course now the papers are bringing up the fact the kids didn't have seatbelts , unless they were there and can prove it, then I think thats unfair on the family as it doesn't help the stirring of the situation - again..... mind you now this Baby P is the headlines, so maybe thats taken the pressure off Norris and Ipswich.
Hate to say it but it shows that not only people in the public spotlight that harm kids (accidentally or intentionally).... makes you think doesn't it, happens everyday sadly, like all the killings and stabbings, but they are soon forgotten, maybe the whole Norris/McCormick thing needs to be dropped for a while too. Its tragic and its sad, but its happened and dragging it up all the time isn't going to help anyone involved, sorry...

AC, Norris made a face-to-face apology to them yesterday, according to the local paper and TWTD. I'm glad the national media are so up to date with it...
