Haha we have HESKEY up front, what else do you expect??? He was superb last night though! That was the best England performance since the 5-1 in Germany - oh hang about, Heskey was superb in that too...

Very good performance tonight, and Rooney was simply brilliant! When he's in that sort of mood he is almost unplayable. Onwards and upwards...the Cappello effect is working!

Four wins out of four, fourteen goals scored, three conceded - I'm happy with that! ;D

Have we had the debate about booing Ashley Cole anywhere on here? I have opinions itching to spew out to the wider world of not very many people

It's kinda funny... England beat Belarus... and suddenly we're brilliant, bragging. Yet if we drew to Brazil, everyone would be on the teams backs...

Go for it; we're just waiting for someone to start it off ;D Really? Can I? Sod it, I'll do it before my battery goes... OK, let me set out my stall. Whenever I go to Argyle and hear the barracking of our own players I am incensed. People use to harrang Paul Wotton despite the fact that he gave us everything for years and it was a despicable act. Now, the other day, Ashley Cole gives the ball away needlessly and a goal is conceded. The crowd boo. Initially, I am troubled by this and the commentators are understandably outraged. But as they grew more and more judgemental of the crowd and droned on more and more about the "Wembley Factor" I'm afraid I lost sympathy. If Wayne Rooney had given the ball away would they have booed? What if it was Beckham? Or Terry? I think that even if it was Wes Brown, England's weakest link, they would not have booed him. It would have been reserved for either Cole or Lampard, two of football's greatest mercenaries who have shamelessly flaunted the loyalties of their supporters and disrespected their game for the sake of the chase of the big buck. Thus self elevated and separated from the fans, they should expect wrath when they prove themselves to be mortal. There is something somehow arrogant about them and to take them down a peg seems just. OK, Rooney and Beckham and co have hardly turned away the top dollar salaries, but they have always seemed fully committed to what they do. Gerrard has never turned it out for England with any consistency but I cannot imagine that he will be booed for a lack of effort. David James could turn and spoon the ball into his own net at any stage, but he retains integrity. Ashley Cole doesn't, and I found it hard not to have a wry smile as he was heckled. There. I feel so much better now.

Nice one Pastie - gotta say i agree with that! Cole was booed, in essence, because he is a spineless, mercenary bag of shite.
With reference to Nordon comments, we are not bragging about a win over Belarus - we're not World beaters but we'd have lost that game under McLaren and we played well. Nothing wrong with saying so either.
OG - the side that played the other night is a result of Cappello kicking some arse, and long may that continue. They actually look a bit more 'like a team' and they at least show the effort that was lacking in August.

You're wrong about Wes Brown being englands weakest link though. He's a top drawer, hard working, skillful defender - not too many of them around lately either!
