Ha Ha don't make me laugh. Pakistan were in a winning position, let me remind you of that, since you're throwing out accusations of 'cheats' 'fuckers' etc Coys - 'playing the race card'. Are you aware that Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka have all made complaints to the ICC regarding Hair's actions in the last 6 years? Oh of course, they must be all playing the race card? Get your facts right before you post such utter crap . There was no evidence of ball tampering, no camera picked up on it, being accused of something without any proof isn't right, the decision was correct in my opinion. I thought i'd have my say, since all the replys were one sided. Regardless of the circumstances behind it, Pakistan refused to come out and continue the match. According to the ICC rulebook, that is automatically considered a forfeiture, which means Pakistan lost the game. There is no justification whatsoever for that decision being reversed, which is why the posts are so one-sided - because the ruling is so blatantly flawed. Race card and all that didn't need to be mentioned, granted, but the ruling in and of itself is farcical.

Hello Gres, Good Holiday?
Neko - I do agree with what you have said, just pointing out a few facts, that obviously people were not aware of before posting.

There was no evidence of ball tampering, no camera picked up on it, being accused of something without any proof isn't right, the decision was correct in my opinion. That may be so, but the fact remains, Pakistan still refused to come out and play. Michael Holding has resigned over the matter, because he doesn't agree with the decision. I'm not playing the race card. I don't think Pakistan did ball tamper. But the fact remains, they refused to play, and thus by refusing, forfeited the game. People were denied the fifth day of what looked to be a Test heading towards an entertaining conclusion. I think the only thing Pakistan "cheated" was the paying public. Yes, there could well have been rain on Monday (my memory doesn't spread back to the weather of that day.), but at least there would have been the prospect of play for them. So yeah. I don't believe Pakistan cheated. But I maintain, this decision is wrong.

I said next, meaning if they dont get their own way they probably will, i never once said they used it in this case. It matters not in this case who has complained about Hair in the past. It isnt the first time they have cheated and it wont be the last:The needle of suspicion is never far away from the Pakistanis when it comes to ball-tampering. The first accusations came in 1993 by the Englishmen who alleged with a lot of silent nods from non-Pakistani cricketers - that Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis scuffed the ball and lifted its seam to make it reverse swing. The latter (he is the present bowling coach, no less, of the Pakistan team!) was officially suspended in 2000 for the same offence in an ODI against South Africa, while Shoaib Akhtar was banned for two games in Sri Lanka in 2002-2003 for his illegal shenanigans with the cricket ball.so in fact it is your post that is complete and utter crap filled with mis quotes -

If they wanted to complain then they should've done it at the end of the match. Fairly simple really.

Too bloody right.
Just a shame Bearders won't get to see it; I remember he very strongly disapproved of the decision to change the result to a draw. As he pointed out on the day of the match itself, the laws make it clear what awaits a team refusing to play.
Likewise, as was also pointed out, the ICC don't actually have the power to reverse results, as stated clearly in law 21.10:
10. Result not to be changed Once the umpires have agreed with the scorers the correctness of the scores at the conclusion of the match - see Laws 3.15 (Correctness of scores) and 4.2 (Correctness of scores) - the result cannot thereafter be changed.
So screw you, ICC. Screw you with something big, sharp, barbed and possibly rusty.
