Probably Matt Le Tissier, still the Premiership's highest goalscoring midfielder.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka', Gregory Coupet, Rafa Marquez, Leo Messi, Roberto Ayala and i suppose Frank Lampard when he pulls his finger out

Ayala is well past his peak. Couldn't save Zaragoza Marquez is a piss poor defender & Barca should get rid(should have signed Garay but Real Madrid have him now).
Coupet ? Buffon , Foster, the young Russian kid are better.
Le Tissier phenomenally gifted & wasted by England.

Akinfeev is the Russian kid you mean mate? Ustari will be a big name in a few years aswell. Benoît Costil at Caen is getting good reviews too.
Still stand by Tommy Mooney as per my original reply though ;D

Akinfeed thats right pal. Ustari will be Getafe #1 next season but still needs to develop. I rate Carizzo as Argentina #1 followed by Romero. Costil is very high on certain clubs list with a postcode starting with SW ... What I would give to have Mooney back in his prime back at the Vic. Far better than McAnuff coming in off the left . Legend. Remember that thrilling playoff run in. Mooney scores & scores again.

7 games in a row wasn't it mate! Was there for every home game that season. Went to Brum away for the semi and remember going school the next day, never stopped grinning all day ;D

Went to Brum away for the semi and remember going school the next day, never stopped grinning all day ;D Heartstopping stuff esp when Hazan nearly knocked one in at the end. I could have walked to the moon on the adrenaline rush at the end. Happy days. ;D Who knew the devil was waiting round the corner aka as bald git to undo all GTs work.

As times gone on I've realised we can't blame it all on the bald one, the ITV Digital shit that happened played it's part aswell, but he did bring in some of his over the hill mates on high wages & sign up fees which didn't help. If that ITV thing didn't happen it could well have worked in our favour but we'll never know will we... Anyway, the answer to this thread is Tommy Mooney and I'm glad we're in agreement ;D

Down in the bowels of the mighty Colisseum that amphitheatre of footballing greats hailing from the era of Furphy & Scullion there is a highly secretive project being undertaken.
Its aim to restore Watford FC to its heyday of sucess in the 1980s.
Unbenownst to the likes of Professor Wenger, a team of crack cloning experts are creating replicas of Ashley Young & Johnny Barnes ...(of course their development would not be identical as any person with a basic grasp of science would recognise but for the purposes of this project thats being ignored). Clone #10 is Tommy Mooney.
That bald pate reflective of a thousand glories & a golden afternoon in the Anfield sun. ;D
