Well, here goes - some interesting ones in here, and some that definitely warranted a lot of thought. Some, I saw coming a mile away, and some get very personal - but what the hell, the hotseat's all about giving honest answers, right? If someone doesn't like it, that's their problem and not mine!
Thankfully, I'm not a regular on the RBNO threads - I'd be eaten alive, thrown up and put through a blender after all these!
(So it's on record, I took a couple of questions out - they were both going over the 'POG = virgin?' ground again, which is frankly getting old and boring. Had there been any other substance to them, I might've answered, but that was all they were. I'm not being used as a proxy for whatever issues you people have with him )
1. I don't get Anime. What is the attraction for you?
Anime, I think, is something that you either 'get' or you don't - if you've made a proper effort to watch it (i.e. not just basing it on a few episodes from one poor series, or one film) and just didn't really get it, then you probably never will. Some people just have the wrong mentality for it.
For me, there's a whole range of reasons that I enjoy watching it. It caters for just about any urge I may have (comedy, action, romance, horror, mystery etc), and the stories and characterisation are often far better than anything on TV nowadays. It's basically my 'TV on demand', as opposed to Eastenders or whatever. The fact that it's a cartoon doesn't bother me - when you come across a genuinely good series, there's more than enough to be enthralled about without concerning yourself with how the pictures look. I mean, if you watch a film at the cinema, what's more important - that it's in colour and not black and white, or that it has a decent story that keeps you interested and characters that don't bore you to sleep?
Going the other way round, I don't get stuff like Eastenders or Big Brother. An oft-recycled plot where a bunch of people have arguments? A show where you watch other people pretending they're doing normal things? Not my cup of tea, thanks.
2. Do you like Japanese schoolgirls
I've met quite a few Japanese schoolgirls, and they're generally very polite, very considerate and quite endearing. So yes, they're lovely!
3. Would you like to grow a tail of your own
Taking reality into account, it probably wouldn't be too convenient. Can you imagine the amount of extra shampoo I'd have to use every time I had a shower?!
4. Would you like Chopper to be best man at your wedding
I'm getting married?!
In all seriousness, I reckon Chops would make a great best man - not afraid to speak his mind or crack jokes at someone else's expense, but on the occasions I've seen him reveal his more sincere side on here, he really has struck me as a genuinely decent bloke.
That said, I have my own preferred choice(s) for best man for when/if I get married. So sorry Chops, but if you're gonna show up and make a speech, it'll have to be an unofficial one!
5. When you dress up is it purely for sexual gratification
Do you happen to work for the BBFC?
Anyway, see Q. 12 (I answered that one before this )
6. How did he get into all the Japanese stuff?
You know, I'm not entirely sure of that myself. I've watched anime since I was young (Thundercats is technically anime (written in America, but drawn by Japanese anime studios) as is Dogtanian And The Three Muskehounds (written in Spain, animated in Japan)), but at the time didn't realise it was anything other than a normal cartoon. I guess I started getting into anime, manga and so on consciously back when Pokémon, Dragonball Z, Outlaw Star etc were all starting out; probably a year or two before they hit peak popularity over here. I quickly discovered just how bad Pokémon and DBZ are when compared to other series, though, and began looking in more detail - with very pleasing results!
The first anime series I really got into was Fruits Basket. I doubt any of you will know that, but it's a great comedy/romance/drama series, and one of the first ones most anime fans recommend to any interested newcomers. From there, I got into other anime series, which led me into manga, music, live-action films and so on.
7. What would be the ultimate shiny object?
...you know what, I honestly have no idea. That's the only question on here I really can't think of an answer to! I think, ideally, it'd be ball-shaped, and if it jingled, that'd be an added bonus...
I shall make it my life goal - the quest for the ultimate shiny!
8. Are you scared that the Millwall boys may steal your seats again
Much like our own MIGs (twats), I think the 'hardcore' Millwall hooligans are all old and past it now. The ones that used to be capable of it are more likely to do their backs in trying, and the younger wannabe-hooligans probably don't have the balls for it. So no, I'm pretty sure that our seats are safe ;D
9. Are you bisexual?
Y'know something? If I'd been asked to bet on one question showing up, this would've been it.
For the sake of ease, the short answer is yes. I'd say that's somewhat innaccurate though - in reality, I think I'm a bit different to the normal idea of bisexuality. It's not so much that I like boys and girls, but more that I've just never particularly differentiated between male and female in my mind. I know there's men, and I know there's women, and I know they're very different, but to me it's still all the same - they just feel like concepts, rather than actualities. It's quite tricky to put it exactly into words...
As I remarked on the board about a week back, love is love, sex is sex, and there are far more important things to consider than gender, IMO.
(I'm guessing that answer probably doesn't surprise a lot of you - I know I don't make any particular effort to hide it!)
10. Have you ever been with a man?
I'll answer this question and #11 at the same time.
11. Are you still "intact"
I was initially gonna faff about with this and be all cryptic and so forth, but bollocks to it - I've got nothing to be ashamed of.
When I was 16 (about a month before my GCSEs), I got raped. Other than that, while I'm far from innocent and naive, I've not actually had penetrative sex. Most other stuff, but not penetration. That's not anything related psychologically to the rape or any crap like that; it just hasn't happened yet. Not had protection at the time, done oral/hand instead, whatever.
To all intents and purposes, I still consider myself 'virgin' - if I think the fine print above is likely to be important to someone, then I'll add it, but generally it's just, "I'm a virgin." I don't consider it shameful; it's just how it is.
As for Q10; all the above applies to males and females alike. I'm sure you can make your own mind up
12. Is the cosplay thing just for fun, or is it part of a cartoon sex fetish scene?
It's entirely for fun. It's just part of the anime community, really; we watch anime, read manga, write fanfiction, make AMVs, draw fanart, go to conventions and cosplay! It's a communal thing, and there's a lot of reward in it - some of the bigger conventions offer prizes for the best outfits (1st prize at one UK event this year is £500), but you also get people admiring the work you've put into it, taking pictures, sharing tips and so on. It makes a great icebreaker at anime cons, and I've made several friends at various events purely from them initially coming up and saying, "Oh wow, I like that!" It's a hobby, really.
Is there a cartoon sex fetish scene? It really wouldn't surprise me, but it's certainly not what most cosplayers are after!
13. What are your "kinks"
Go on, who asked this one?
Getting the obvious one out of the way first, I have a kitty-kink. No, I don't go for real cats. No, I don't go for 'anthro' kitties. For the most part, it's just the ears-and-tail thing - whether it's me or someone else in them. I don't know why it appeals, it just does (in the same way I generally prefer redheads to blondes - don't know why, I just do!)
This is good.
This (anthro) isn't.
This is way out!
(Anime pics used purely because they're far easier to find than real ones - they're good on real people too! )
Other than that, I'm very much a submissive, albeit not a spineless one - I like being led, and with a little force. Not beating the shit out of me, but not taking 'no' for an answer either (unless it's an actual no, obviously). That doesn't only apply to kinks, mind; it's very much in my normal personality. Lead me, and I'll obey happily, but if you're gonna nancy about, I'm gonna lose interest very quickly.
Soft-core bondage is another kink - again, not beating me senseless, no being suspended by nipple-rings, no nails through eyelids or any of that crap. Simpler stuff like spanking, being tied down, leashes, restraints, stuff like that. Blood-play (not vampirism; different things there) appeals in concept, but I don't know that I'd actually do it - I think that's more of a fantasy thing.
Temperature-kink is another one. Ice-cubes are great for that, as are just about any implement you can heat up (though not to 'flesh-searing', kthx?).
I'm sure there are others, but that's all that comes to mind right now!
14. I was disappointed that you didn’t get the mod appointment, I would say out of the two appointments Travis has fared well, however POG is a disaster. Do you feel let down when you see the little POG has to offer when clearly you are the better man!
First off, whoever the anonymous supporter is, thank you
Trav has been the more popular of the new mods, without a doubt, but I can't say I feel particularly let down. It's possibly for the best that I didn't get the role anyway, since, as of about two weeks after the poll closed, my work commitments have increased, and I've not been on the board as much - there's no guarantee I could've done a lot. POG was maybe over-zealous in the beginning (that's a debate I don't wanna get into, though) but I don't think any of the mods do a particularly bad job.
Truth told, after seeing all the hoo-hah that came up after the appointments, part of me is glad I didn't get the position!
15. What would you say the best thing about Lootown is? The old one about the airport I believe is true, how bout you?
I dunno about the airport, it's expensive. Don't forget the train station, the M1, no border patrols... ;D
In all seriousness, I wouldn't say there was a lot that was amazingly fantastic about Luton (though there's plenty of good/nice stuff), but there's not that much bad stuff either. For me personally, the best thing about Luton is that it's home, where my family and friends are. It's familiar, and - in my eyes - safe.
16. Do you ever wish your life took another path?
I sometimes muse over what things might have been like if this or that had or hadn't happened, but I wouldn't change anything about my life if I were given the choice. Everything that's happened, good and bad, has shaped me into what I am now, and there's no guarantee that changing anything would be for the best. At any rate, I've got a secure home, a job I'm happy with, a great family, a gorgeous girlfriend and generally good health - I'd be stupid to want to change that.
So short answer; no, I've never wished that my life had gone another way.
17. How soul destroying is it to be in the knowledge that your club will never be better than it's rivals?
Head to head stats:
Luton wins: 56
Luton goals: 183
Watford wins: 37
Watford goals: 156
Draws: 29
If that's "never better than our rivals" then I'm quite happy about it! ;D
18. [POG-virgin question removed]
19. Will you post a picture with a shoe on your head?
Maybe
Was that a "Would you please?" type question?
20. Pick out 10 of the regulars here and rate them from 1-10 (10 being the highest) in terms of coolness.
Oh, bloody hell - let's clear this up very quick. I don't have particular favourites, and I'm one of the worst people you could come to asking about 'cool'. You all fawkin' rawk my sawks one way or another - that'll have to do (Besides which, moods fluctuate a hell of a lot on here!)
21. What’s all the cat loving shit about?
It's not really 'about' anything - it just is. I couldn't tell you why I like them any more than I could tell you why I like apples but not pears - that's just how it is.
So it's on record, I guess it's worth pointing out that I probably play it up a little on here - I'm not obsessed with them by any stretch, so if I give that impression... well, whoops and oh well? I didn't give myself the name either - I got dubbed it waaay back, because of my nekojin-love, and it's eventually become my standard internet handle.
I prefer dogs as pets to cats too.
22. Your top 5 favourite (non-anime) films of all time?
First off, I have to admit that I'm not very good at keeping up with current films (I probably go to the cinema twice a year at most, and haven't rented a film for about ten years), so there's gonna be a bias toward older films in there. That said, I generally find the newer films are inferior anyway!
This list would change on a daily basis, but right now, in no particular order:
Candyman (One of the best thrillers ever made, IMO)
The Princess Bride (Childhood favourite that still hasn't lost its charm)
Day of the Dead (Finest zombie film in existence - everyone loves Bub!)
Love Actually (It's funny, it's sweet, and quite clever in a subtle way)
The Land Before Time (First video I ever owned; I saw it on telly over Christmas and was just as enraptured!)
23. [POG-virgin question removed]
24. If you had to pick one person off here to send to a psychiatrist, who would you send?
The obvious, easy and slightly cruel answer is to say Jules...so that's what I'll do! I think I'll go for Arnie, though, and ensure he's had a few lagers before each session. I'll be stood outside, running a sweepstake on how far into the session they'll get before the shrink cracks! ;D
25. If for some reason, you had to remove some senses from someone, who would it be and what senses would they be and why?
I'd do the stealing from Jade Goody, and remove her senses of sight and hearing - ideally while she was halfway through waddling across the M25. I'm firmly of the belief that she's responsible for all the celebrity-obsessed people in this country - the Hive (Drama) Queen, in fact - and that if she gets eliminated, her mindless drones will either wither away or wake up to reality. Even if I'm wrong and we end up killing only her, it's still for the greater good!
26. Are you in favour of Peanut Butter Jelly time?
While I personally am not a fan of peanut butter and jelly combined, I whole-heartedly endorse Peanut Butter Jelly Time and all the good things it has done across the globe.
It's peanut butter jelly time!
27. Liken 5 606ers to anime characters, naturally you have to explain the anime characters persona etc., along with their pictures
Bloody hell - do you have any idea how much I have to think about this?! Whoever asked this, I hate you!
Here goes:
Billy - Keiichi Maebara; "Kay-ee-chee My-bar-a" (Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni; "When Cicadas Cry")
(Keiichi's in the middle)
Keiichi, like Billy, is just an instantly likeable guy. He has this aura about him that just makes you feel comfortable immediately, and he strikes me as the kinda guy who's a really good friend (much as Keiichi is to his friends). In and of himself, he's pretty peaceful, but he's been very sharp to rise to the defence of board members or his beliefs when necessary (again, much like Keiichi). Even when things don't go his way, he tries to remain upbeat, and ultimately it all seems to work out well. I just hope Billy's not harbouring the kind of paranoia that eventually leads Keiichi to murder two of his closest friends!
Mrs H - Maki Kawasaki; "Mah-kee Ka-wa-sa-kee" (Burn Up Excess)
(Maki is in the middle; purple hair, green clothes)
Maki is a strong and intelligent woman, who knows what she's doing and how to do it. She can have a sharp tongue when she wishes to use it, but is generally good-humoured. Much like H, Maki is involved in the police force (albeit at a much higher rank!). Maki's marriage also ended badly (sorry to bring that up ), but she managed to become stronger for it, ultimately going on to fulfil the things she wished for - which I can see H doing too, ultimately. Hopefully for H, her ex won't turn out to be an international terrorist that wants her dead like Maki's does!
Cav - Kyou Sohma; "Kyo So-ma" (Furubas; "Fruits Basket")
Kyou is energetic. Kyou is loud. Kyou is in-your-face. Kyou doesn't like being wrong. Despite this, he has a certain charm that draws people towards him, garnering popularity whether he likes it or not. Beneath the loud and brash exterior, there's an awkward sweetness that only occasionally surfaces, in a clouded sort of way - you have to squint a bit, else you'll miss it. He's not the kind of guy you'd imagine fawning over kittens or being a proud father or anything similarly "ladies man ish", from first impressions, but the irrefutable truth is he probably does.
I presume Cav doesn't suffer from any of the personal issues Kyou does (like transforming into a cat when he gets hugged, being despised by his family or another curse that turns him into a monster when he takes his bracelet off), but then, you never know. He'd be the kind to keep it to himself anyway, prefering to sort it out his own way.
Chopper - Jiraiya; "Ji-rye-a" (Naruto)
Make no mistake about it - Jiraiya is a lecherous pervert who loves his alcohol. But that's what makes him so damn awesome.
His perving is only ever done in good humour - he wouldn't actually seek to take advantage of a lady. He is, in fact, almost a gentleman when it comes down to it. That doesn't mean he'd pass up the opportunity for a sneaky ogle though; and if there's beer or sake (Japanese rice wine) on hand, so much the better. The man is more than capable of holding his own in a fight (he's one of the mightiest ninja in existence - maybe that's not quite Chops, but the initial statement is accurate enough!), and certainly wouldn't think twice about bitchsmacking you through a wall if you crossed him. Despite all the man's-man-ness, though, he does have a genuinely considerate and caring side. He's wiser than he usually lets on, and has all the time in the world for people that matter to him - while I can't say the latter for Chops in absolute certainty, it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case.
Travis - Shigure Sohma; "Shee-guh-reh So-ma" (Furubas; Fruits Basket)
Shigure is one of life's Nice Guys. He has a certain disarming charm, and is happy to laugh and tease, but also knows exactly when to be serious and sympathetic. He's willing to crack jokes to lighten a situation, even if they mean he takes a playful beating for them, and is undeniably popular. He's generous, even if he can be a git at times, and is as light-hearted and free as you could expect of someone in the real world. Not exactly the sort of things you'd expect to hear about one of the most powerful characters in the series, but the truth is you hardly notice that power even when he wields it!
I leave you with a one-liner from the man himself:
Kagura: You don't know what a woman feels like when she's in love!
Shigure: Oh, yes I do! Or at least I've felt enough women to venture a guess...
28. At what age do you think it becomes just plain WRONG to watch and enjoy kids cartoons?
I mis-read that as "plain wrong to watch and enjoy kids" at first! ALWAYS!
As for kids' cartoons? I don't think there is an age where you 'should' stop watching them. If you grow out of them, then fair enough, but at the end of the day they're just a harmless bit of fun - so if you still enjoy it, why should you stop? I watched some Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner cartoons on youtube just the other day, and they had me in stitches - anyone who says there's something wrong with that needs a slap, IMO!
29. Do you get off on Anime porn??
Haha - the oldest anime stereotype of the lot. I'd have been disappointed if this hadn't shown up!
I won't deny it, I've watched hentai (to use the correct term). Did I get off on it? Not especially. Some of them are just too weird to get off on anyway (I recall one where, just as the sex scene finished up, a skeleton smashed in through a window and tore the bloke's throat out with its teeth... ), and even the relatively normal ones aren't amazingly stimulating. Real-life porn does the job far better
30. You have the opportunity to turn 10 606'ers into well known cartoon characters - who do you change into who and why?
- CG into Roadrunner and Chopper into Wile E. Coyote - I get the impression Chops loves the chase, and CG can rest assured she'll never actually get caught! ;D
- Smurf into Speedy Gonzalez - it'd spare his car the pizza deliveries, and he'd be able to demand a pay rise for efficiency!
- Jules into Tom and Hurls into Jerry - they're like cat and mouse some days anyway...
- RB into Scrappy Doo - maybe he'll be marginally less irritating? (Just kidding mate )
- COYS into Elmer Fudd - with a shotgun licence and hunting season open, I reckon he could rid us of a few of the PC brigade...
- Lucas into Marvin the Martian - Planet Mars, advanced technology, what more could the man want? Consider it a gift!
- Mrs H into Princess What'sername from Earthworm Jim - with the amount of creeps she seems to encounter on nights out, she could do with the martial arts and weaponry!
- Mizen into Yosemite Sam - I'd just love to see what happened!
31. On your death bed, GOD (or some other similar type bloke) gives you the option of carrying on your life as it is, or starting afresh as an intelligent cat - what do you do?
Another cat question
Well, first off, if I'm on my death bed there wouldn't be a lot of point in carrying my life on as it is! If you mean He removes whatever nasty illness I have, then I guess it depends. I mean, if I was in my eighties, arthritic, a little senile, then starting again as a cat could have a certain appeal - if I was in my thirties, I'd continue as a human, definitely.
I guess it also depends how intelligent the cat is - I mean, are we talking about being capable of human speech and so forth? 'cause if so, that has its perks - I'd have my own chat show for starters! Step aside, Parky! ;D
32. Who would win in a Fight Egg or a Spud?
Spud. The egg may be hard at first, but it'd soon crack and get easily beaten! (Go on, who didn't see those coming? )
33. What would you rather be sat on by an elephant or a Hippo?
An elephant - they're considerably taller than hippos, so I've got more of a chance of seeing it and getitng out of the way!
34. Top 10 people on 606?
Unfortunately, the members function won't allow me to see the top ten posters. Sorry!
35. A Verson of you on a bingo board?
If that's not what you meant, tough - took me long enough!
36. A verson of 606 Name by Computer and Strange Charecters like Crash Bandicoot and Donky Kong and who would be who?
...I'm assuming, by that, you mean 'pick some posters and give them names similar to computer game/character names'? 'cause that's the question I'm answering, anyway Doing five:
Chopper: Devil WILL Cry [Devil May Cry]
Arnie: Flash Randy C*nt [Crash Bandicoot] (So much money, so many women... )
Gres: King Kong [Do I really have to explain this one?]
Katie: Micro Machine [Micro Machines] ('cause she is small... )
Jules: Loud Strife [Cloud Strife, Final Fantasy VII]
37. Would You Rather Have a Gay Realationship or Suport Watford
Gay relationship - I wouldn't be ashamed to admit it in public! ;D
And done! Mini-marathon effort, especially #27, but it was fun. Thank you to everyone who sent any in! ;D
Also, if anyone's curious, I'm more than willing to distribute anime to people, to see what they make of it. While it's technically illegal, producers generally don't frown on fansubs (fan groups adding subtitles to the Japanese-language productions) since it builds up the series' popularity prior to their international release. As long as fansubbers stop distributing when the series gets licenced, the producers won't say a word.
So if you're interested, I'm your neko! ;D

The obvious, easy and slightly cruel answer is to say Jules...
So if you're interested, I'm your neko! ;D
