Warnock's gone, and if the fans are to be believed Robbo won't be far behind. To be replaced by Carlos Tevez, perhaps? No, maybe not. Well, whoever is the manager will be presiding over a Premiership team, reckon the Blades faithful, and one that's secure in mid-table. But in the past 30 years, the red half of Sheffield has spent just five seasons in the top flight, and two ended in relegation. So full marks for optimism!
I don't know how we finished so high in this. Sheffield Utd fans are generally pessimistic and cynical by nature!!
Optimistic ........ what a load of bollocks!!

There's a new wave of optimism around Hillsborough. Instead of relegation battles the fans now predict a promotion challenge.........Actually I'll be suprised if he's at the helm in 3 weeks time! Are we thinking that this survey was conducted before the big kick-off?

Brighton & Hove Albion 74
Perhaps it's the thought of a new stadium that has affected their minds, but Brighton fans are dreaming of the Championship - despite finishing a lowly 18th in League One last term. It's true that the Seagulls have spent three of the last five seasons in the second tier, but it's also true that two of those ended in relegation and the other saw the club finish just a point above the drop.
You just wait until Falmer gets here... then Dean'll take us to the promised land...

I don't think theres a great deal of difference between sets of supporters in the long run. This survey is just a snapshot of the time it was taken. Morecambe had beat Preston and Wolves - optimism. Man City had started the season well. In contrast Saints had had a poor start to the season. Leeds fans are only not optimistic in the survey because of the financial situation and the points deduction. Its not place specific imo.

I don't know how we finished so high in this. Sheffield Utd fans are generally pessimistic and cynical by nature!! this is true - i'm as close to an optimistic blade as you'll find and although i predicted we'd get promoted, that was more out of duty than belief. we're playing shite and with robson incharge, this was expected.
