I have given up caring tbh. I think by failing to qualify it will show how much our overpaid players are hyped up far too much and that will be a good thing. best league in the world but it is not English.

I'm honestly torn here too - would love to see England qualify, but then it'll just lead to the usual media overhype and the usual "It's our turn" crap. Maybe a failure will shake things up a little.
Perfect world, I guess, would be for Israel to win and give us the opportunity, only for Croatia to beat us again - just to rub in how much the current band don't deserve it.

i'd rather Englands group took the "Russia beat Isreal, Macedonia beat Croatia, England beat Croatia, Russia beat Andorra, Croatia eliminated" path
that would shut that knobber Slaven Bilic up

I'm supporting Russia to be honest!
If (and hopefully won't happen) Israel manage a draw - THEN England manage to beat Croatia in the last match (with no strikers) England qualify for Euro 2008. Which we won't win - or even get close to final cos at the end of the day as a team we are shit. In fact a poor excuse for a national side - no pride, no passion - just feeble fucking excuses!
Russia to win! McClaren sacked and maybe we can get back to basics with a new manger and start putting together a squad of players with the ability (which I've think we've got), a winning mentality, a pride and passion (dump the fucking prima donnas) and NO excuses!
God I'd love an England manager who admitted to the press (just for once) "We aren't good enough!" Only then will the media respect the manager (and through him the team)!

Agreed 100% Roaster.
We should not be relying on other games to reach competition we are a fucking joke. It will hopefully give everyone in the FA a good kick up the backside.

i'd like a England Manager to admit: " we are good enough, however i consistently pick the wrong players for the system we play, leavings massive weakness which are often exposed by mediocre teams (ie portugal, russia, croatia, etc etc), with inferior players, but players that never the less play with disipline in the system and manner they were told to play in, UNLIKE the England players. Futhermore these weaknesses are again increased in magnitude by my failure to pick players from "lesser" clubs and instead relying on players with "reputations" (ie Alan Smith, Kieron Dyer, Wes Brown) who often have actually failed to produce consistently in the premier league and as such shouldn't be in the squad."
*ironically wes brown has been doing well recently*

Agreed 100% Roaster. We should not be relying on other games to reach competition we are a fucking joke. It will hopefully give everyone in the FA a good kick up the backside. And hopefully those players who underperformed against Macedonia and Israel (away) - whilst appreciating their extended summer break as they are sat in UK on their arses instead of representing their country in what is the 2nd biggest national tournamnet in the world - might think about the re-percussions. At the end of the day advertising contracts they've currently gone certainly won't be renewed. Who's gonna want to use England footballers to promote products when they haven't qualified for a major tournament. It'll hit the bastards harder in their pockets - and I think that'll hurt the England players more than the fact they ain't qualified!
