Aye up RO!! Totally agree mate - he cant just revert back to the old guard...we dont need them! Evening Gres! As next game is at home to Estonia (doesn't even qualify as a potential banana skin) then McClaren can afford to be daring. Besides, after last 2 matches the media will have nowt but praise for him and they'll no doubt be asking similar questions. That said if we did fuck up then the media would slaughter him "Lamps left on bench in England fiasco", "30 mins not enough for Rooney to turn around England's fortunes", "Gary Neville returns - still looks like a horse" etc. LMAo - Gary Neville!! ;D ;D McCalren wont get any credit i dont think, the press will say it was forced on him by injuries and he was lucky! he's in a no-win until he (possibly) gets us qualified. If he beats the Croats and then the ruskies away then they might actually praise the guy!

good performance but why did Neville come on? If Cole had to come off just put Downing straight on in his place not swop the whole midfield around still dont trust McClown

We do expect too much especially considering that each weekend something like only 3 out of 10 players in the Premiership are English, and most of them are 'ordinary'. I'd love to Scottish (well I wouldn't) but they went through a spell in the 90's - early 2000's when they were well shit - the only Scottish players were playing for Gretna, The Red Lion in Melton Mobray and Hearts! They weathered the storm (influx of foreigners to the British game) as cos the Frogs, Spanish, Germans and Africans coming into Premiership the Scots players were even further down the pecking order. Under the circumstances, personally I don't expect too much from England. The last 2 games have shown though that there are other players available aside from the usual suspects - and it's great that suddenly Rooney, Lamps etc. are guaranteed starters. And as to what I mentioned earlier - we'll never be as bad as the Scots!!!!

Great game to watch 3-0 was a bit flattering because the Russians had a spell in each half where they could have scored a few goals. After 3 second half minutes they had 3 chances. On another day if they create chances like that they will score loads lets just hope its not against us in Moscow. I thought Ferdinand was shocking in defence and Ashley Cole wasn't much better. Everyone else had a good game in particular Barry, Owen and Heskey. If McClown makes any changes for the next game then lets hope its Ferdinand and Ashley Cole. Who needs Lampard and Rooney - not England!!
