Beat me to it, GB Well done to Dawson and JJ! Think we should of taken a gamble on Harewood too, ok one game hes magic and another hes poor but he was still the highest scoring English striker in the prem last season!

Am Annoyed Beckham Aint In The Team And Gary Neville Still Is. Gary Said He Wont Retire From International Football For Aslong As He's Still Playing Team Football, But As For Beckham Im Sure He Thought The Same And He Hasnt Done Anything For Him Not To Play For England ... And If He Didnt Resign As Captain He Would Still Be Playing ... A Feel Sorry For The Guy, He Is A Good Player.

And If He Didnt Resign As Captain He Would Still Be Playing You really believe that We need an injection of pace wide right as Lennon showed when he came on during the world cup, we also need pace on the left but we have been lacking a left sided player for years.

It's a friendly. Why play players that we already know EVERYTHING about? Whack Ashley Young in there I say...

Yeah I Do Believe That ... Yeah I Agree About The Pace Thing And Lennon Played Great As A Super Sub (Not Saying That He Can Be More) ... Who Doesnt Lack For A Left Sided Midfielder ... They're Hard To Find, But I Agree In Lennon We Have Someone Great But Beckhams Still Good Too. And If G.Neville Can Play Why Cant Beckham Age Aint Too Different.

But McClaren Said In The Interview That He Phoned Beckham And Said That He Wants To Look At The Future And He Werent Part Of It So I Dont See Why Not Cus Beckham Has Still Got A Few Years In Him.

Beckham is useful cos we have no-one who can cross/take a free kick as well as he can. We can make up pretty much everything else just those two attributes. He's more of a name than a great player imo.

It is a better squad list than Sven picked for the World Cup in some areas.

Yeah I See What You Mean GB ... His Names Famous World Wide But At Least He Can Live Up To His Name ... His Free-Kicks Omd'zzz The Only Free-Kicks Ive Seen As Good Are Lee Naylors (He's A Leftyyy) ... But Then Again So Are Some Crosses And Goals And Assits Thats What Beckhams Good At ... Lets Just Hope In The Future He's Still Here.

Least it will give SWD and Lennon a good 45 minutes each to show what they can do and gain experience, as has been said we know what beckham can do. Also Figo getting dropped by Portugal actually helped him prolong his international career as it gave him a new focus.

Why is injury prone Kirkland there? soon he will have been in the England squad more times than he's played games! Good to see Dean Ashton there, hes the perfect mould to play upfront, get him the experience and he will be class for England! would of liked some more new players though

McClaren can only pick who is fit and available. What he should do is use this to look at players who would not have been in the squad had everyone been available:
As for the occlusion of Beckham - yes he is a world class crosser- dead ball man but who else gets a look-in when he is playing.
Gary Neville - never liked the man. But he has never let England down.
Phil Neville? whats he there for? To carry the kit-bag?
