I've taken a look at the IMdb out of interest to see which films rated the highest, and was actually very pleasantly surprised to see those that made the list....
1. The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy 2. City Of God 3. Memento 4. Amelie 5. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind 6. Downfall 7. Pan's Labyrinth 8. The Lives Of Others 9. The Pianist 10. Spirited Away
Can anyone add any glaring omissions??

I can see some glaring inclusions Pray tell GT. Haven't seen no.8 as yet, and The Pianist is vastly overrated. .....I'm guessing you're not keen on Hobbits??

I can see some glaring inclusions It's only 7 years of film, but I feel sure they could have come up with summat better than that. Then again I confess to liking all three Matrix films (yes, including the second two!)

You know my thoughts on number 5 Trav I don't mind LOTR, the first film was the best though Dead Man's Shoes, 24 Hour Party People would be in mine for a start off, I suspect in those sort of polls people pick films they think they should anyway

DMS goes without saying. Think my top 10 would be along the lines of...... 1. Pan's Labyrinth 2. Mulholland Drive 3. Kill Bill 4. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. 5. Dead Man's Shoes 6. City Of God 7. LOTR Trilogy 8. Switchblade Romance 9. Donnie Darko 10. A History Of Violence Some more glaring inclusions for you to cast your eyes over.

Pleasantly surprised to see Spirited Away in there! I think there's a pretty strong case for Shaun of the Dead, personally - zombie films aren't the biggest-selling genre, yet it was still massively popular (and I believe it outsold the remake of Dawn of the Dead by a fair margin), and they trod new ground in making a Zom-Rom-Com. The acting was superb, especially from Simon Pegg (who didn't get a lump in their throat during the zombie-requisite 'shooting a loved one' scene - the best I've ever seen - or right toward the end? "I'll stop doing it when you stop laughing." "I'm not laughing...") and while the film is perhaps lacking in fantastic points to rave about, I can't honestly pick a single fault from it.

I was no.11 on mine.. Good point about Shaun Of The Dead. Very pleased to see that Grindhouse is placed very highly too!! But why his most ardent fanbase have to wait until June for the next Tarantino film is a bit of a sore point.

I'd probably drop Saw in my top 10 too, thinking about it - again, not a fantastically amazing film in the same vein as, say, LOTR or Pan's Labyrinth, but it was just so damn clever. It was original! It provided a genuinely frightening prospect! It kept you guessing and interested! It had a twist you couldn't see a mile off at the end! It was creative! It had insights into human mentalities, and the lengths people are willing to go to!
In fact, bugger 'probably' - it would be in my top ten!

Lol Fop! Tis indeed a cute film. Fops are very manly. In the words of Sir Percival Blakeney: "Lud, mademoiselle! You are even more beautiful than I recall.... IF that is possible!" ;D Dead cute and dead good, stick it on the list!
