I would push for Barry to get a try in a friendly ahead of him, but as you say, what's the worst that could happen if we do give him a go? ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) (How old is he, btw? Has he ever done anything with the U21's?)

The worse thing would be for him to play for England and his studs to tear a hole in the fabric of the space time continuum!
OH MY GOD PLEASE NO!!!!!

OH MY GOD PLEASE NO!!!!!On the upside, we might see McClaren and El Tel get sucked into the void, thereby opening up the way for O'Neill to take charge ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Barry aint nothing special. He can score penalties and that's really about it. Put Taylor in for when Cole is out ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

does anyone remember when saints beat pompey 2-1 in the fa cup live on bbc, matty taylor stuck his arm out to block the ball and gave away a penalty in the 90th minute which crouch scored for us ( ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) ) and taylor was going mental claiming it hit his chest, what a doughnut! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) personally i dont see what he offers to the team, other than hardwork, id like to point out in a team like portsmouth hardwork will succeed, but for england where he would be surrouded by loads of lazy knobs, his hardwork wouldnt really pay off. netherless he is pretty decent player, id give him a go in a friendly ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)

Might as well give him a chance, I mean, if the likes of Phil Neville can get that many caps for England, anyone can!
He puts in a lot of effort, ok only scores a few goals but seeing as Macca is looking at lots of players who could potentially make the squad, he's got a good a chance as any,.
