Derby players that wasted their talent....... *Tom Huddlestone (should have stayed for another year at least)Now he's a player I wish Wolvs bought not just had on loan ... He is an excellent player and massive and at his age a major talent ... He's wasted at spurs thou ... Same as thoe walcott ... Never get a game a club like those two Tom-Tom should come back to Wolves ![8-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cool.png) Huddlestone will get to start some games this season. He had his first start recently away to Slavia Prague in the UEFA Cup. Looked awesome - the pace of european games seems to suit him. With Carrick leaving, it is possible he could earn the holding role by the end of the season. Its a shame they have that rule about buying a player and loaning him back to the selling club. Huddlestone could have stayed at Derby for another year and Walcott at Southampton until the end of last season. Surprised no one has mentioned Anelka. Scored 20+ goals in his season with Arsenal and then went off to real Madrid and is now at Bolton(?). Even more of a shame as the Arsenal rescued that ineffective winger from Juventus.

Esteban Fuertes-Ex Derby player in 2000 looked to replace Wanchope then found out he didn't succesfully gain a work permit or something along the lines of that.

Martin Palermo - Still plays for Boca i think, one of the best all time players in the Argentinian League, god knows why he didn't come and play in europe!

That was a waste, he's 32 or something like that, leads the line for Boca week in week out, he's class but could have been big if he had gone to the right club in Europe

Oh ESR can you remember a player in our second season *i think* in the championsip called Manel? Yea, remembered the best game he played for Derby was against Preston, won 5-1, 4-0 up at half time with 2 goals by him and 2 from Tudgay, he had a hat trick denied from a crackin long range effort what hit the bar! Unlucky but I don't know whwere he's at now, same with Junior.... (who came on and scored a penalty to make it 5 ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) )

Junior is playing in Denmark i think, ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) one player who was meant to be the new Figo, Candido Costa from Porto. Was on-loan for us and the best right mid we have had in years, never heard about him since.

Yea I remember him, his last game was a cracking game against Bradford, was subbed after after 30 minutes, Adam Bolder came on and set up Leon Osman for a stunning lob! won that game 3-2 in dramatic fashion which virtually sent Bradford down (Keeper scored an own goal with 10 minutes left!) Never seen Costa since, as for Junior, I heard he was playing for Odense whos boss is Bruce Rioch, but I'm not sure

yea i heard that to, at the moment can't think of any more talented rejects...... ooo Dean Sturridge, heard Everton put in a £7mil offer for him in 97' or some year then, we rejected and 5 years on sold him for £700,000 and he wasn't a first team player for those 5 years.

Sturridge was excellent when he signed for Wolves at first. Scored 20-odd goals for us in 2001-02, when we blew our promotion chances. Then he got injured the next season, and Ndah and Miller were outstanding, plus Blake got the nod ahead of Sturridge when Ndah got injured. Sturridge spent the rest of his time at Wolves trying to get back to fitness, before we let him go to QPR.
