here is my issue: i work in co-op on a wednesday, friday, saturday and sunday night, on 3 of these nights i work with one particular member of staff, he/she is quite old, and i feel they are often rude towards me, they also break the rules a fair bit and this could get in me trouble, i dont feel that i can work with this person, but i am kinda scared of telling my manager. the manager cant really change the days i work to work with someone else and that leaves me with the choice of putting up with them which i cant, this could mean i would have to leave my job cos if i report this member of staff it would be even more awkward between us... i dunno what to do, and its really getting me down

Report them Rich. If you cant work with them anymore and would want to leave you have nothing to loose. If you dont report them they could be an idiot towards others mate.

Tell your manager, you shouldn't have to leave because of someone else.

Your manager would rather you say something than nothing at all yeah, thats a good point, i really dont know how to say things though, im really bad at complaining/reporting people, and i often sit back and let people walk all over me i will say something to the manager, he is pretty cool and supports saints too, just need to figure what to say, cos if he would rather have them - an experienced member of staff than me, im pretty fucked and without a job

You'd soon get another P/T job Rich!Have a quiet word with your gaffer, and then its his choice as to whether or not he acts on it! If it means you leave your job, so be it but at least you'll have done the right thing! Then...wait til the old codger finishes work and give him a proper 'shoeing'! easy! the 'old' codger we are talking about isnt JJ is it??

If you report them you win. If he/she gets even more nasty then they're in serious trouble. Even if they'll do it grudingly, your colleague will treat you better if you tell the manager.

If it were me, i'd ask the boss if he had a spare 5mins for a little chat about something. I'd explain that as much as i liked working there, i was having a problem with this particlar person who made it uncomfortable and far less enjoyable to go to work. I'd say that i hadn't come to you before because i thought i'd give things a chance to settle down but unfortunatly they haven't and i dont think its an issue i can solve. I'd suggest to the bost either chatting to the person causing the strife or maybe seeing if there was anyway of swapping things around a bit because its becoming a big issue and if it continues i dont think i will be staying here much longer.

You just got to learn to come out your comfort zone once in a while. If people see you are too scared to do so, they will take advantage of this, if they see you have a bit of bottle and can do something you normally wouldn't, it makes it much harder for them to manipulate you. All the best Rich.
