You have quite obviously got very confused. Either that or you are very old! In the entire history of football, Wolverhampton Wanderers have only ever once achieved a 3-0 scoreline in their favour at Bramall Lane. That was on 29th January 1949 in the fourth round of the FA cup. Your last league victory at Bramall Lane was 3-2 on 24th January 1997. We scored late on to draw level at 2-2, but Steve Bull scored an even later one to win it for you. Also, we no longer have wooden seats anywhere in the ground. Although I rather liked them. Much warmer and more comfortable than plastic seats! As for quiet supporters. Selective deafness I think. The link below will take you to a site that gives a pretty comprehensive and impartial view of every football league ground, and the author clearly has a very different opinion than you! dspace.dial.pipex.com/town/park/yfh45/ground.shtmlAnd I doubt you knew that off the top of your head. Trying to sound all that clever, doesnt work. Yup, scoreline 3-3, I'm not too bothered about that thou to be fair, the 3-0 a month or so afterwards made up for it. I didnt say that you still have wooden seats did I ? No, I didnt think I did. So no point even pointing that out. Selective Deafness, or not ! Maybe you just dont know what true atmosphere is. Millenium Stadium 26th May 2003 - You should of listened to the Wolves fans then, that is true atmosphere. I dont care about your internet links to be fair. Everything that I need to know, I'll find out my own way thanks, not from shitty things of Blade fans ! Ta You said that when you went to Bramall Lane Wolves had won 3-0. That was quite a long way wide of the mark. I think I am entitled to point that out. I was not trying to sound clever at all. Which bits do you think I didn't know off the top of my head? I did know that Wolves had not won 3-0 at Bramall Lane for a very long time, as I knew they had never done it in my lifetime. But, I didn't know they had in fact never ever won a league game there by that margin. I did look that one up, and the cup match date! I also was well aware of when you last won at Bramall Lane. I certainly did not need to look that one up. It was an important match for both sides. We'd won at Molineux earlier in the season, but I remember being very uncertain as to how we'd do in this game. In fairness, I find games between our two clubs very hard to predict in general! And the game was one of those that tends to stick in the mind. We were behind twice, but in the last ten minutes David White looked as though he had salvaged a point for us. However, our hopes were dashed when a few minutes later Steve Bull got the ball. He turned ran and banged it in. I didn't at any point in my post say that you were saying we still had wooden seats. However, you did point out that they were wooden when you were last there and that you thought they were not very good (not quite the word you used, but I think that's what you meant!). You passed comment about them and I was just pointing out that they are now gone. I am well aware of what true atmosphere is and over the years have enjoyed many very atmospheric occasions at Bramall lane and other grounds. I was at the Millenium stadium in 2003 and to be fair any club that wins there makes a din and enjoys the atmosphere. The losers tend not to find the atmosphere to be so great! As regards crowd noise, I can rarely hear any noise at all coming from the away end at Bramall Lane. But this does not mean that they are not making a noise, it simply means that I can't hear them because of the noise in my own end. And the reverse is I suspect also true. I have been to Molineux and have seen you at Bramall lane, and on those ccasions you have not struck me as being any better or worse than supporters of many other clubs of comparable stature. But I am sure you have enjoyed many great afternoons and nights at Molineux and other grounds. But we have also had some great times. Our views on the supporters of other teams and their grounds tends to come from what we see and hear when we visit them, and it is usually our first visit that colours that view. When I first went to Molineux it was a truly dreadful place. Three sides were very old, one being a large terrace behind one goal with no cover at all apart from what looked like a little rickety shack at the top of the terrace. The fourth side had an attractive new stand for the time, but it was absolutely miles away from the pitch. I'm sure I saw people in there with binoculars! Possibly you had plans to turn the pitch around, and I think Wolves supporters at the time referred to the stand as 'Marshall's folly'. Your supporters at the time gave very little in the way of vocal support to the team and I remember thinking it was like a fourth division ground, except bigger. For a while, even though I was aware of your history I thought of you as a small club, and I'm sure that it was this first view of Molineux that caused me think that. Obviously things have changed a bit since then! In all seriousness, the link is very good and can give you some very useful information about every football ground in the country. It is not written by a Blades fan, but is a very comprehensive and objective assessment of all the grounds in the league. It is sometimes interesting to read what an objective outsider has to say about you. Incidentally, he's quite complimentary about Molineux.

theres more atmosphere on the moon than at bramall lane. I agree. It was dead before especially in the championship, who knows what it's like now, but that's probs because off all the glory hunters popping out from anywhere and everywhere now. Oh do behave! Of course we have so called glory hunters as does every other club. Everyone has a hard core that will go no matter what. But, at the end of the day football is also an entertainment industry (although that's hard to believe after some matches I've seen!) and there will always be people who will only go to high profile matches. Even Wolves have 'glory hunters'. How else do you explain why your crowds dropped to an average of 4,020 the season you were relegated to the fourth division. When we experienced the same fate our average was 12,772. And before you ask, yes I did know our average (to within a couple of hundred) without looking it up, but I did look up your average and was astounded at how low it was!

Anyway, departing from defending the honour of the club I support and moving onto the thread's question, I have enjoyed my visits to The Hawthorns. Good atmosphere and easy to get to.
In non-competitive matches I enjoyed a day out to a pre season friendly at Cheltenham. Sunny day, obviously low key, but a very friendly club and only a 40 minute drive from where I live..

Nothing wrong with Hillsborough, or Wednesday for that matter.
I might support The Blades, but I have nothing at all against The Owls or any other club for that matter. Without an opposition, there is no league. And with Wednesday being so local, the competition has just that little bit more edge to it. Sheffield derbies might not always be very good matches, but they are great occasions.
When it happens, I enjoy us getting one over them. But Sheffield football would be all the poorer without the rivalry between us, and I have no doubt that the wheel of footballing fortune will carry on turning and in the not too distant future they will be getting one over us again!
Unless you support one of the big half dozen or so clubs in the the premiership, disaster is never all that far away. Usually about 90 minutes! The good times should be enjoyed while they last, as you never quite know when the next good time will come along.
