Totally agree, he should play in a more competitive league though as i worry about his level of fitness. Based on what I've seen of his pre-season form, that's not gonna be an issue Don't forget Ruud Gullit's his coach now; if anyone out there's gonna know how to get players in shape... ... its an ex- player, milan got rid off because of his lack of fitness?

Someone obviously missed Beckham's performances since McClaren recalled him. As for it depending on the league he plays in - doesn't matter how good or bad the players around him are, it doesn't make his crossing or corners any less accurate. If you actually bothered to look at MLS, it's not as bad as most people seem to think, and there's some high-quality players there now. With a bit of basic research, you'd also see that Beckham's been in fantastic form in Galaxy's pre-season games - and they've been all over the place, not just against MLS sides. The crosses he's been putting in have been as good as he's ever done. seen MLS - it ain't that great. ... playing beckham is a very backward step. Basing that opinion on how many matches? The same could be said of the premiership too if you watch the wrong games! Capello said he'd pick players on form and fitness. Beckham meets the criteria, and offers us something none of our other wingers currently offer, which is a deadly accurate cross. Whether he starts or comes on later remains to be seen, but he should certainly be in the matchday squad.

Friendlies or not; Beckham's still doing the business. Also, he's gonna be fresh rather than having had a long season behind him (after all, you know how much rest these poor underpaid Prem footballers need )

This is obviously a point we're not gonna agree on, anyway; let's see how the match goes, and we'll see who's vindicated at the end (Now watch him get a concussion in the first minute or something, rendering the debate unresolved )

some of the media think he's only been picked so he'll prove on the pitch that he's not good enough.....

some of the media think he's only been picked so he'll prove himself on the pitch thats he not good enough..... Like your spelling? Let's face it, the media know naff-all and talk crap at the best of times; using them to back up your point kind of indicates a losing argument ;D
