Right peeps it is time to get this shit sorted.
Numbers?
Venue?
Personally I think we should stay away from pubs in the shopping district as it is the last christmas shopping weekend and it will be full off bloody kids!
As we are a football site how about a football/sports venue where those who are hardcore (like me) can start drinking in the afternoon and watch the footy scores etc ;D

Looks like 9 people... and that ain't certain! Still...... Okay keeping out of the West End then I guess ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) Can do, though I always like a cute old man's pub with lots of wood or tiling... but a sports bar is ok! I presumed we'd start sometime after lunch, yep... ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Some are there for the duration, some just for the afternoon and some for the evening. Plus we need venues that the out of towners can get to easily.

Have to admit, I prefer 'proper' pubs too, though a sports bar wouldn't exactly be sniffed at, especially if there's a pool table! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) What're pub food prices like in London? Might be an idea to kick off with a pie and a pint (or whatever floats your boat) and carry on from there, though I know pub meals usually fill me up ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) (And I make a point of not ordering sandwiches or soup - it's called a pub meal for a reason!) Might be better off knocking that idea on the head, actually... 9's not too bad a number - 4 would be too few, for example, but too many means we're bound to end up in two or three smaller groups (conversation-wise) instead anyway. Will it be worth me bringing a camera for the photo thread, d'ya reckon? ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Only once mind and about 3 years ago but I rememember it well. One of my mates emigtrated to Canada (lucky bastard) and him and I ended up there after everyone else went home and had a large number of reminiscing pints ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) Good little boozer though but the south London lot will have something to say about its location!

Though I knew a nice old school pub in Oxford which also had a pool table in the back room... that place was SWEEEEEET! But that's not a suggestion for the "London Drinks" lol... Depends... you can get a decent meal cheapish (under a tenner) or go to a Wetherspoon and get beer & burger for £4... your choice really! No eating at some point is a fine plan... as long as you can still fit drink in, it seems to work for me... ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) ;D yeah guess so... in fairness I wasn't expecting 30! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Sure, but I'll bring my oldish digital camera too... it sometimes refuses to work, so yours could come in handy! If anyone has issues of the "photos steal my soul" variety, they should probably object now!!! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

It's great, though the danger of falling down the steps to the pissoir is quite high ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) yeah they will lol! any other ideas? maybe somewhere round Waterloo? White Hart? Wellington first for the football, then White Hart for overpriced continental beers?! ;D

I've got one camera that takes really good videos but crap pics, the other takes good pics but has no mic for videos - one or both? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) I like my regular pub; it's got the best of both worlds - proper English pub, right down to the random decor (without doing the deliberate OTT beefeater thing - though they do have a broken photocopier in the corner ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) ) and slightly dim lights, darts, a pool table, best jukebox in Luton, a big screen for sports (or oldies TV - Only Fools and Horses, anyone?), a quiz machine and a fruit machine. Oh, and they sell a whole mix of beers too, from Fosters and Stella to Newcastle Brown Ale, Spitfire and Bombadier. Throw in a cute barmaid, and you couldn't ask for anything more ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)
