Well, I'm sure I'm not the only Town fan today wondering what the hell happened today. How can we have gone from 6 games unbeaten to a load of rubbish against Colchester and today
Lewis Price once again forgot how to kick straight, so it went up in the air and rarely made it out of our half.
Our defence was just non-exsistent, in fact it may well not have been there you couldn't have told the difference. Alex Bruce does not belong on the wing, he belongs in the centre, and Dan Harding did one or two flinging tackles, but he did OK. Better than at the start of the season. And also, how can we let the shortest player on the pitch, all 5'7'' of him score two headers? His third goal was deserved, a good left footer, but the defence backed off him!
Legwinski and Walton started where they left off against Colchester (why were they playing?!), and played like headless chickens. Walton once again showed his anger by curling into a ball and turning red faced. Yeah, that works when Mark Noble's just won the ball back doesn't it? We need a midfield which can supply the upfront. Currie's slow, but he can provide assists. Richards, on his day, can perform well and Bowditch, well why wasn't he playing from the start? He made a bit of a difference!
Alan Lee also showed how easily he can get tired with a very lethargic performance today. Yes, on his day we admire him and say how fantastic he is, but he looked completely out of touch today. And Billy Clarke, bless him, ran his heart out today for a lost cause, but unfortunately, I think he's more of a super-sub. There's an expectation on him now, pressure. We need a consistent striker, not a one-hit wonder or 'I'll score when I feel like it thanks' player
And why don't the team play to the whistle? Our defence stopped dead for the third or fourth goal (I can't remember, there were too many :. It would solve so many problems! Unfortunately, it's always been there really. Surely someone else has noticed this?
Anyway, rant over. I hope things improve, but unfortunately it can be said that we're back to square one. Sort it out Jim
Keeping the faith though!
