Rather stunned last night when I read that Joe had gone... then the realisation set in as to why. I was personally a big fan of Joe, I felt he'd achieved a hell of a lot with sod all when he came to this club, but in the knowledge that this is the best possible time of the season to make such a decision especially with quite a lot of good managers looking for jobs, the chance to start a fresh is quite appealing. What do you think? Was it the right decision? And who do you think the replacement will be? I don't see why Alan Curbishley wouldn't want to take it - after all, he was effectively the 2002 Ipswich Town manager in his time at Charlton... WHY BOTHER MOVING ALL OUR PLAYERS SOMEWHERE ELSE WHEN YOU CAN HAVE THE SODDING LOT AT PORTMAN ROAD!!! ;D Who do I think will get it? The strange thing is, I was saying about a month ago that I thought Joe would be gone by this time next year and that "if he was available, Tony Mowbray would probably take it"...

Sorry to hear about Royle - decent bloke.
Tony Mowbray would be an excellent choice. He has done a great job at Hibs and maybe feels a move down south is on.
If Mowbray isn't a big enough name for Gibson at 'Boro then maybe Portman Road?

Quite possibbibily. (Sorry, I have a tendency to type utter bollocks on occasions... ) Here's a little pool of possible managers off the top of my head... Alan Curbishley (yeah, right) Martin O'Neill (yeah, right) Mick McCarthy (oh, right) Tony Mowbray (o...kay) Phil Brown (oh, dear) Terry Venables (oh, fuck) Johan Boskamp (oh, fucking fuck) Peter Reid (oh....) Ian Holloway (oh..ho-ho-ho) Phil Parkinson (er...) Steve Tilson (err...) Peter Taylor (errrr...) Sven Goran Eriksson (errrr.... well... I think.... it was a...... good... game....) Kevin Keegan (wankstains McGee) ;D ;D ;D

Well at the moment the leading candidates according to Sky Sports ar Phil Parkinson & Tony Mowbray. I wouldn't mind either. But then there's Willie Donachie...who seems to have been forgotten by everyone
