How's it going Jen? It's not, that's the problem. I make a sub heading then can't find anything to put under it, i find an example of something to analyse, but can't write anything about it. Why not? Ask yourself why the writer has chosen to use that word. Whats the Purpose of it?

How can an article from The Sun be used to teach higher English? It is aimed at any twat who can just look at the pictures. I found 24 abstract nouns. Do i get a blowie? Thank you for making me smile, at least

But I heard that it was quite different to GCSE. Do you use the Key Concepts for that?

Ask yourself why the writer has chosen to use that word. Whats the Purpose of it? I am but my thoughts don't seem to be able to be transfered to the page.. rather the screen. Everything has to be under godforsaken headlines.. I spose I can just 'write' now and sort them later..

Is there a difference? The Guardian is aimed at folk who can do the Sun crossword in under an hour. How can an article from The Sun be used to teach higher English? It is aimed at any twat who can just look at the pictures. I'm contrasting it with The Guardian to show the difference in formality etc between them, except I'm not allowed to be biased.

You have to learn all the Key Concepts and apply them in every analysis as well as applying semiotics, connotation, denotation etc. But if you're not going to do it for A Level then just forget everything that I just typed lol.

You'll enjoy that, i remember doing that at college but it was a trailor for a horro film using chess pieces to represent a killer closing in on his victim.

Jen....give me one of the examples your trying to do. Short of it is, I have 2 (main) articles on the Suffolk murders, both published on the same day from The Sun and The Guardian. Basically I have to analyse the whole thing(s), picking out noun/verb phrases, passive/active grammar, looking at word classes (use of adjectives, nouns, verbs (tenses and modal verbs), discourse etc.
