BENNO SET FOR BLADES
United have agreed a deal with Sheffield United for the transfer of goalkeeper Ian Bennett.
The former Birmingham stopper is expected to join the Blades for an undisclosed fee.
Benno made four appearances for United last season after joining on a free transfer from The Blues during the summer of 2005, but was unable to dislodge Neil Sullivan as the first-choice goalkeeper at the club.
The 34-year-old, who had a loan spell with Sheffield United two years ago, will link up with ex-Leeds team-mate Rob Hulse in South Yorkshire.
Another profit from the Blades - cheers Colin!!

Not a chance, the only way you'd get him is to guarentee Liverpool he'd start every game, and Portsmouth are still sniffing around.

But he's a Leeds boy through and through.....he would come here in a flash if it meant first team football and considering Sully is gradually getting to the stage where he may not be performing as highly as he once was, i reckon it could be a go'er.

Sully was at fault for their scond goal last night...but his kicking has improved! He's knocking on a bit though..but saying that Martyn last a few years!

I've been hearing from lots of Leeds fans that Sully was one of your best performers last season. Would seem strange then for your manager to spend a tidy sum bringing Carson in for a year. Would Sully then ask for a transfer as well?

He is a good shot stopper and still makes some great saves....but he is error prone and making a few more of late. He's not as agile anymore and we are gonna have to think about replacing him sooner rather than later

I got nothing bad to say about him cos he has been great since he signed for us. But given the chance to have him or Scotty back, i know which i'd choose.

To be honest I can understand why we sold Hulse but selling Bennett is a bit of a joke, hes as good as Sully if not better now and its not like we'll have got much for him and hes not exactly on big wages....

I agree whats the point. I'm fed up with this Blades-Leeds connection all the time too, they buy our players, we always go after the same players, fook off.
