Leeds United boss Kevin Blackwell has said he is willing to walk away from the club after receiving hate mail. Blackwell said: "If people are not happy with what I'm doing, I don't have to hang around here. "If they don't want me, then that's the way it is going to be. When I get threats to my well-being, you have to wonder why people do the job sometimes. "Frustration has a terrible way of manifesting itself, but don't people think we are frustrated too?" The abuse from a minority of supporters has, according to reports, included threats of physical violence and the 47-year-old fears for the safety of his family. The Elland Road club have not won in six games and have failed to score in over six hours after moving to within three points of second-placed Sheffield United. However, Leeds' failure to take advantage of the Blades' wobble has seen their Yorkshire rivals open up a nine-point lead with only four games remaining. Blackwell, who worked for 17 years under Blades boss Neil Warnock, has led the west Yorkshire side to a guaranteed play-off spot in just his second year in charge at Elland Road. "There's a history we have to carry and it's a heavy burden for players to carry but I think they have done it fantastically well this season," he added. "I said to people there would be a lot of twists and turns before the end of the season and that has proved to be the case." Leeds issued a statement of support of their manager and condemned those responsible for sending the threatening mail. Regardless of your views on how he has done, sending hate mail is NOT the answer, Roaster. Please refrain. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Morning mate. And so do the educated majority as far as I can tell. When you consider where we were the start of last season, the play offs is a good achievement. Yes, we have fallen away when we had the chance of auto prom, and yes he struggles with Plan B, however I am satisfied with what he has done.

Here Here JJ
I mean what is the point of losing a manager who is learning his trade and doing O.K. He needs support not aggro. You have a good chance in the play-offs with a tight defence that has kept 18 clean sheets this season. I think the main threat will be Palace. Its time to group behind the manager and his team for the final push.

Agreed 100%. People easily forget that nobody else wanted the job, KB is still learning the trade and that he had to rebuild from scatch. And yes, I consider Palace the main danger although they are just as inconsistent as us
Hopefully, both your lot and mine will be celebrating soon

Getting a bit tight isn't it? You need to stop drawing at home! Forest and Oldham gaining momentum as well and nevr discount Super Donny!!
Despite all my banter to the contrary, I want to see all the Yorhshire clubs doing well, so I hope that both yourselves and Udders can pull through

Udders maybe.
Oldham and Forest should never have been let back in the picture. Its nail-biting time!

Agree about Forest. They were the laughing stock of the divsion a while ago and now they're the form team. Looks like Southend are guaranteed to go up, so all the other places are still up for grabs. Colchester seem to have got their act back together, Udders are hard to score against, Swansea are still there and Brentford look strong.
From an outside viewpoint it's exciting!!

JJ, gonna agree and disagree with you on that one. Sure, Blackwell has done a fantastic job and does not deserve hate mail. It is awful and disgraceful and the people that sent it should be strung up by their knackers... But.... What a time to be all over the papers and radio 5 saying he will walk away from the club. The team isn't doing well and is in a fragile state psycologically, the last thing we need is a manager that threatens the good people of Leeds that if he doesn't get 100 percent love he is offski. He has been Mr Popular all season long and deserved the accolades, now when things are going pear shaped and a few people are against him he is whining away and thinking it is all about him. Sorry KB, you cannot please all the people all of the time, and if that is reason for you to walk out of an institution like Leeds United, because a few knobs sent you a couple of letters, then don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out...

Those people should not be allowed to call themselves fans.
The past while has been frustrating but no one deserves death threats especially not Blackwell who has helped secure our place in the play offs.
Sorry for the mini-rant!

Afternoon S4E. Agree that the timing is bad, but you never know, it might just galvanise the players and they start to get their form back "for Blackwell"

Now then JJ, believe me there is nothing I would love more than a response from the boys and I think it will happen. I genuinley belive we will go up and will be distraught if we don't. Just don't like to see KB making it all about him when this should be our time..
